Does WeTravel offer private trips (group tours)?

Many of our organizers offer customized private tours. If you would like to exclusively book a trip currently listed on WeTravel, please contact us for more information.


Is WeTravel the official organizer of the trips offered on www.wetravel.com?

WeTravel is a platform that connects trip organizers with travelers. WeTravel supports trip organizers in advertising trips, coordinating traveler registrations, and collecting money. We also vet every trip organizer that is listed in the WeTravel marketplace. However, the responsibility for organizing and conducting the trip lies fully with the trip organizer.


Why is my payment “pending”?

If you pay with your US checking account, the payment is processed within 3-5 business days. During this time your payment is labeled “pending.” A “pending” payment means that you have paid and completed your booking, but the funds are not yet available to the organizer. No further action is required on your part.


Where is my financial information stored?

WeTravel does not store any financial or sensitive user data on WeTravel servers. User data such as credit card numbers, bank accounts or SSNs are immediately and securely transmitted to our payment provider. Our payment provider is Stripe (www.stripe.com), one of the world’s leading payment providers, used by many large internet companies such as Facebook and Twitter. WeTravel does not have access at any point to the user’s financial data.


Are flights included in the trip price?

International flights are not usually included in trips listed on WeTravel, unless otherwise specified in the trip description. .

Are the trips guaranteed to run?

WeTravel trips may only run if a minimum l number of travelers book the trip by the date indicated in the listing. These requirements vary by trip.


What happens if the minimum number of travelers is not reached and the organizer decides to cancel the trip?

The organizer will reimburse 100% of your deposit and payments.


Do I need Insurance?

WeTravel requires that you acquire comprehensive travel insurance which includes at least USD $200,000 worth of emergency evacuation and repatriation coverage. We are happy to arrange travel insurance for you. Get a quote from our trusted partner Travelex.


Does the trip cost include any visa fees that may be required?

Unless otherwise stated in the trip description, trip prices do not include visa fees. For most destinations, visa requirements depend on your nationality. You are responsible for researching visa requirements in your trip’s destination country. If you need assistance, please contact your trip’s organizer.


Can I join only part of a trip?

For many trips, it is possible to join only part of the trip. However, you would be responsible for all costs associated with joining a tour late or leaving early. Please contact the trip organizer for more details.


Are your trip organizers employed by a tour operator?

Many of our organizers are independent tour organizers and are not directly employed by a tour operator. They are travel aficionados that are passionate about taking you on an awesome, unique trip. We strongly believe that this provides you with a more authentic travel experience at a better price relative to commercial tour agencies. Although our organizers often work together in partnership with local travel agencies, their independent status guarantees that they will take you off the beaten path and truly show you the destination through the eyes of a local.


How is WeTravel able to offer such competitive prices?

Our unique business model offers tours that are organized directly by the trip organizer. There is no middleman, so we have much lower margins than traditional tour operators.


What if the trip turns out differently than advertised?

WeTravel takes great care in screening our trip organizers and our trips. In the unlikely case that a trip does not fulfill your expectations and differs substantially from the description on our site, we may partially or entirely refund the cost of your trip.
