There’s a magic here — a rhythm and energy unlike anywhere else I’ve ever known. It’s wild, raw, deeply spiritual… and it gets under your skin in the most beautiful way.
We’ll wander beneath ancient baobab trees in Morondava — nature’s living sculptures —and hike through misty rainforests in Andasibe, home to the haunting calls of the indri and dancing lemurs found nowhere else on Earth. We’ll connect with the land, the creatures, and the local communities that make Madagascar so uniquely alive.
Then we slow it all down — barefoot and present — on the tropical island of Nosy Komba. Here, days begin with yoga and ocean views, meals are fresh and nourishing, and time stretches out like the tide. Swim in warm turquoise waters, fall asleep to the sound of the sea, and reconnect with what really matters.
This journey is not a typical tour — it’s a soulful escape designed to immerse you in the heartbeat of Madagascar. I’ve kept the group small — only 6 guests — so we can travel with intention, create meaningful connections, and leave space for spontaneity and magic.
Come with an open heart, a curious spirit, and a sense of adventure. This is Madagascar, and it’s going to change you.

Day 2
This morning, after breakfast, we set off on a scenic journey eastward — a beautiful 3-hour drive that winds through Madagascar’s terraced highlands, vibrant roadside markets, cascading waterfalls, and lush green rice paddies. The landscapes shift slowly, revealing the depth and diversity of the island’s terrain.

There’s time to relax and settle in before we head out for a guided night walk in the forest — a magical experience as the nocturnal world comes to life. Look out for glowing eyes in the trees, tiny frogs calling in the dark, and the curious sounds of lemurs on the move.

Wake to the sound of the rainforest — bird calls, rustling leaves, and the haunting song of the indri lemur echoing through the misty trees. After a light breakfast, we set out on a soulful morning hike through the Analamazaotra Reserve, guided by a local expert whose knowledge brings the forest to life.
This protected rainforest is home to Madagascar’s largest lemur, the indri, whose eerie calls can be heard reverberating for miles. As we walk beneath towering tree ferns and strangler figs, we may spot other lemur species, endemic birds, and orchids clinging to the branches.
Later in the day, we visit Vakona Lemur Island, a sanctuary where rescued lemurs live freely. Here, you’ll have a chance to see (and maybe even gently interact with) several species — playful, wide-eyed, and full of personality. It’s a joyful, unforgettable experience that allows for ethical, respectful close-up encounters.
We return to the lodge for a sunset yoga practice on the deck, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the forest, letting the day’s magic settle in.

After yoga, enjoy a nourishing breakfast before we pack up and begin our drive back to Antananarivo.
It’s a beautiful chance to reflect as we transition back toward the capital.

This time is intentionally spacious, giving you the opportunity to rest and integrate the rich experiences of the past days.
As evening settles in, enjoy a relaxed dinner and a quiet night in — tomorrow, we journey onward to the coast.
Day 5: Westward to the Coast
Thursday, July 23
Today we take to the skies, flying from the highlands to Madagascar’s wild and remote west coast. As the landscape changes from lush green to earthy tones and open savannah, you’ll feel the raw, untamed spirit of this region settle in.
Depending on our flight time, there’s space to simply relax and breathe — whether that’s with your toes in the sand, a stroll through the local market, or a quiet moment gazing out over the Mozambique Channel. This coastal region is known for its laid-back rhythm, traditional wooden pirogues, and fiery sunsets.
Settle into our charming eco-lodge near Morondava, just steps from the sea. With salty air, warm breezes, and the soundtrack of waves, you’ll feel the shift as we begin the next soulful chapter of this journey.
Day 6: Kirindy Forest & Sunset at the Avenue of Baobabs
Friday, July 24
This morning, we rise early and venture inland to Kirindy Forest, one of Madagascar’s most unique dry deciduous forests and a vital haven for rare and endemic wildlife. With a local guide, we’ll hike through this protected area in search of the elusive fossa — Madagascar’s top predator — along with several species of lemurs, giant jumping rats, chameleons, and birds found nowhere else on Earth.
The forest is rich with life and contrast: sun-dappled trails, ancient trees, and surprising stillness broken by sudden movement. Each step draws you deeper into the island’s wild, strange beauty.
In the late afternoon, we make our way to the legendary Avenue of Baobabs — one of the most iconic and awe-inspiring sights in Madagascar. As the sun sinks low on the horizon, the massive, centuries-old trees cast long shadows across the dusty earth, glowing gold and amber in the soft light.
It’s a moment of quiet wonder — a sacred pause — and one you’ll carry with you long after the journey ends.

Travel Tips
Pack for all seasons: July brings Madagascar into its cool, dry season — making it one of the best months to travel. Across your itinerary, expect clear skies, mild temperatures, and low humidity, with some regional variations:
In the Central Highlands (Antananarivo & Andasibe), mornings and evenings can be chilly with crisp air, averaging 10–22°C (50–72°F). Bring a warm layer for early morning walks or sunset views.
As you head west to Morondava, Kirindy, and Bekopaka (Tsingy de Bemaraha), the climate becomes hotter and drier, with daytime highs around 25–30°C (77–86°F). Nights are cooler but comfortable — ideal for exploring forests and hiking the Tsingy.
In the northern islands (Nosy Be & Nosy Komba), expect warm, tropical weather with lots of sunshine and sea breezes. Temperatures typically range from 20–30°C (68–86°F), with calm seas perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and beach yoga. Rain is rare this time of year.
Overall, July offers sunny days, little rain, and ideal wildlife viewing — from lemurs and baobabs to humpback whales offshore. Just pack layers for the highlands and lightweight clothes for the coast!
Stay hydrated: It's essential to drink plenty of water throughout your trip. Carry a reusable water bottle with you at all times.
Respect wildlife: July is great for lemur sightings, especially as trees are less dense. Always maintain a safe distance, follow your guide’s instructions, and never disturb animals in their natural habitat.
Bring cash: Madagascar uses the Malagasy Ariary (MGA), often written as Ar, and it's a largely cash-based economy. While some high-end hotels and lodges accept credit cards, many smaller establishments, shops, and markets do not — so it's essential to carry local currency. ATMs are available in major towns and at airports, but they can be unreliable or run out of cash, especially in remote areas, so it's best to withdraw enough in Antananarivo before traveling inland. Most lodges prefer payment in cash (Ariary, Euros, or USD) for extras like drinks and tips. Always carry smaller denominations, as change is often limited.
Be mindful of the sun: The African sun can be intense, even on cooler days. Use high-SPF sunscreen, wear a hat, and seek shade when necessary.
Respect local cultures: Madagascar is home to a rich blend of African and Austronesian heritage, with 18 ethnic groups and deep traditions tied to land, family, and ancestors. Wherever you go, expect kindness, curiosity, and deep cultural pride — always greet with a smile and a cheerful “Salama!”
