Magog, Quebec
We had such a wonderful time in Quebec that we organized another Hash Ski as soon as we got home. We secured the charming Victorian Inn, Chateau du Lac, located in the heart of the delightful village of Magog. The inn accommodates a maximum of 18 hashers. Grab a hasher and pair up! Each room features one queen bed, except for room 6, which has two double beds. Solo room regos available.
Regos are in Canadian $$ this year.
We meet at Mont Orford, depending on folks schedule it is either a half or full day. Ski, a bit of apre and then drive 15 minutes to the hash hotel and check-in at 3pm.
Folks are on their own for dinner Friday night, welcome reception starts around 7pm.
There are several fantastic restaurants in Magog. It gets busy on Friday nights so if you plan on going out in a big group plan ahead.
Chateau du Lac - Check-in 3pm
Breakfast is served from 7 to 8:45 AM and we all head out to Sutton.
Sutton has something for everyone. One side of the mountain features lovely green and blue gentle groomed trails, while the other side is known for its steep slopes, glades, and natural un-groomed terrain.
We all meet up in the main lodge for a few après-ski pitchers of Canada's finest beer and then head back to the Inn for a fantastic buffet dinner at 6.
The Eastern Townships has fabulous Nordic style spas.
Breakfast is served from 7 to 8:45 AM, and we all head out to Owl's Head.
The views are stunning! It feels like you could ski into the lake at Owl's Head. Known for its variety of well-groomed trails, Owl's Head is perfect for a group to start at the top together and meet at the bottom. Advanced skiers can take the double black diamond, while those seeking a more relaxed trail can enjoy a beautiful blue to the chair, allowing everyone to ride up together.
After dinner, bring your favorite beverage down to the inn's large parlor. Relax on the big, comfy sofas and share your favorite part of the day with the hash.
Breakfast is served from 7 to 8:45 AM, and we all check out at 10 AM.
Monday skiers often plan their day based on their journey home and the ski passes they hold. Some guests with the Indy Pass will head to Jay Peak or Burke, while others may purchase an extra day on the L'est Go pass to ski at Bromont. Some will need to skedaddle back home to make it to work.
