We will be flying from Austin to Redmond Regional Airport (RDM) then board a private transfer to Bend on March 21th. We are holding 18 seats on Alaska Airlines at a favorable price. Delta offers better flight times, but does not open for group booking until the end of July. The Delta flight leaves Austin at 8:15am on the 21st and returns to Austin by 9:15pm on the 28th. Therefore we will not be adding the airfare as a sign-up option until August, once we have had a chance to confirm price and better flight times with Delta. If we do move to Delta, we will drop the group booking with Alaska which is penalty free.
We will be staying at The Element Hotel by Westin in Bend. This is not a ski-in ski out hotel (as you can see by the price!) but offers a great location in Bend, with access to lots of town offerings.
We will have an included private ski shuttle that offers transport 2x daily to and from the Mountain (ca. 25 minutes away). For those that need more flexibility, Cascades East Transit offers a shuttle service though out the day with 4 buses running continuously for $12 RT. The closest pickup is however ca. 1 mile from the hotel.
We return March 28 flying from Redmond (RDM) to Austin.
Experience the charm of Bend, Oregon, in spring! After a day of adventure, cozy up in one of Bend's inviting breweries or restaurants, savoring local craft beer and delicious cuisine.
Mt. Bachelor Ski Resort is the 7th largest in North America spans over 4,318 acres of skiable terrain, with 101 runs, with 15% designated for beginners, 50% for intermediate skiers, and 35% for experts, ensuring a diverse experience for all skill levels.
Mt. Bachelor is known for having one of the longest ski seasons in the nation. The ski area typically aims to groom trails through May, and sometimes even into June, especially with the help of late season snow and cross-country camps. While the main winter season usually ends in late May, there's a good chance of finding snow and skiing conditions at higher elevations.
Bend is known for beer. It boasts the most breweries per capita of any place in the United States, and has a long list of famous labels, including Deschutes, 10 Barrel, Crux and much more.
There are also a number of wineries and tasting rooms within walking distance of the hotel, as well as loads of music venues! It is too early to pick out music locations as schedules are not yet online, but we are hoping to add a few group options to take advantage of the music scene!
There are questions on the registration page to gauge interest in additional activities, so please fill these out. These are not commitments, but let us know if we should follow up on possible add-on options.
