8-Day DESERT SoulScape

20-27 March / 20-27 November 2026

A Retreat Woven from Movement, Energy & Touch

Join Marcel, Robyn, and Ray for a deeply personal retreat in their home country — a journey guided by yoga, channelling, and bodywork. Held in the vast, soul-stirring landscapes of the Kalahari and Namib Deserts, this experience invites you to soften, tune in, and return to yourself.

Desert Soulscape is a unique collaboration between Namaste Yoga Safaris founder and Yoga Practitioner - Marcel Vosloo, Channeler and Tarot Reader - Robyn Steyn, and Bodywork Practitioner - Ray Sasman.

Bound by friendship and a shared love for their homeland, each has spent years travelling Namibia’s wild beauty through their personal and professional paths. This retreat brings their work into harmony — combining mindful movement, deep insight, and nurturing touch for a journey that’s as much inward as it is outward.

It’s not just a retreat — it’s a soul adventure across two iconic deserts.

Transfer from Windhoek - Kalahari Desert

DepartureWindhoek
DestinationKalahari Desert /Bagatelle FarmhouseFriday, Mar 20, 2026

We recommend booking a morning flight that arrives early, so we can begin our journey together around 10am. If you arrive the day before, we’re happy to collect you from your accommodation in Windhoek.

From the city, we travel about three hours into the open landscapes of the Kalahari, arriving at our lodge around lunchtime — leaving the buzz behind and stepping into stillness.

After arrival and check-in, there’s time to unwind, explore the landscape, and ease into the stillness around you.

In the late afternoon, we’ll gather for a slow and grounding Yin yoga session — a quiet practice to land in your body and soothe your nervous system after travel. Expect long, supported holds, gentle breathwork, and space to arrive fully in the moment.

As the sun dips below the dunes, we’ll share our first dinner together — a nourishing, wholesome meal. Let the pace shift, your breath soften, and your senses open to the rhythm of the desert.

DAY 2

The morning is yours to rest and settle. Throughout the retreat, each guest will receive individual sessions — including therapeutic bodywork and tarot readings — thoughtfully scheduled across the days of Desert Soulscape. In the afternoon, we gather for a powerful group channelling session led by Robyn, followed by a guided nature drive through the Kalahari, a visit to the resident cheetahs, and a peaceful sundowner as the desert begins to glow in golden light.

DAY 3 - Integration & Stillness

The final day in the Kalahari begins in quiet reflection with a group meditation, followed by a guided Bushman walk. During the walk, you'll explore their traditional practices, including tracking, hunting techniques, and the use of indigenous plants for medicinal purposes. The experience usually lasts about 1 to 2 hours.

Individual sessions continue once back at the lodge, and the day closes with an afternoon yoga practice to integrate the energy of the retreat so far. After dinner, sink into the stillness of the desert night with a stargazing session under some of the clearest skies in the world.

Namib Desert

Sossusvlei
DateMonday, Mar 23, 2026

Ancient and otherworldly, the Namib is the world’s oldest desert — a place of shifting sands, sculpted dunes, and surreal beauty. Here, silence stretches for miles, and the landscape feels both raw and sacred. It’s a space for awe, reflection, and a deep sense of presence.

From the red sands of the Kalahari to the open, dreamlike stillness of Sossusvlei, the journey continues. The drive from the Kalahari to our next lodge takes around four hours, unfolding through ever-changing desert scenery. At Namib Outpost Lodge, the landscape opens wide — silent dunes, soft wind, and raw space that invites deeper integration. These days are slower, quieter, and more spacious, allowing your nervous system to fully settle and your heart to soften.

We greet the day with one final morning yoga practice in the Kalahari before heading west to the Namib Desert. This is a half day’s journey that offers contrasting scenery of Namibia’s two iconic deserts. Upon arrival at Namib Outpost Lodge, we’ll gather again in the afternoon for a gentle group channelling session to ground and realign after travel.

Sossusvlei, Deadvlei & Sesriem Canyon
DateTuesday, Mar 24, 2026

An early morning as the gate to the Park opens at sunrise. As we enter we will stop over at Dune 45 before heading to further to Deadvlei/Sossusvlei. Sossusvlei, undoubtedly Namibia's most iconic landscape, located in the Namib-Naukluft National Park. The Namib Desert is the oldest desert in the world and stretches over 1500km with dunes reaching heights of 300m. If you feel up for it, why not join me to climb Big Daddy, admiring Deadvlei and surrounds from above. There’s something so magical as you sit quietly and take in the energy of this Desert.

After taking some amazing photos at Deadvlei, we will visit Sesriem Canyon, then head to back to our lodge to cool off in the pool, relax and admire the views.

The afternoon invites deeper personal work through tarot and massage sessions, all within the peaceful comfort of the lodge.

Here, the silence is almost tangible, allowing for a moment of complete mindfulness—where past and present dissolve, and only the breath remains.

Sesriem Canyon

Sesriem Canyon is a hidden sanctuary of tranquility, carved over millennia by the gentle persistence of water. Walking through its cool, shaded passage offers a sense of retreat from the vast desert, a reminder of nature’s quiet strength. Travel Tips

  1. Pack for all seasons: Namibia's weather can vary significantly. While days can be hot, mornings and evenings, especially along the coast or in the desert, can be quite chilly. Bring layers, including a light jacket, sun protection, and sturdy footwear for outdoor activities.

  2. Stay hydrated: The desert climate can be dry, so it's essential to drink plenty of water throughout your trip. Carry a reusable water bottle with you at all times.

  3. Respect wildlife: Namibia is home to stunning wildlife, including desert-adapted animals. Always maintain a safe distance, follow your guide’s instructions, and never disturb animals in their natural habitat.

  4. Bring cash: While major cities have ATMs, smaller towns or remote areas may not, so it’s a good idea to carry some Namibian dollars in cash for smaller purchases.

  5. Be mindful of the sun: The African sun can be intense, even on cooler days. Use high-SPF sunscreen, wear a hat, and seek shade when necessary.

  6. Respect local cultures: Namibia is home to diverse cultures and tribes. Be polite and considerate when visiting local communities, and ask for permission before taking photos of people.

  7. Embrace the silence: Namibia is known for its vast, open spaces and quiet landscapes. Take time to appreciate the stillness, which can be a deeply restorative experience.

Yoga Yoga teacher and local guide

Welcome to Namaste Yoga Safari – A Journey of Adventure, Connection, and Mindfulness

I’m Marcel, the heart and soul behind Namaste Yoga Safari. Since 2016, I’ve been crafting unforgettable yoga holidays in some of Africa’s most breathtaking safari destinations. This isn’t just a business - it’s my passion, my journey, and my way of sharing the magic of Africa with you.

A yoga safari is more than just a trip - it’s an experience that invites you to slow down, breathe deeply, and immerse yourself in the wild. Imagine sitting quietly with mountain gorillas in the lush forests of Uganda, walking alongside chimpanzees, climbing the towering dunes of Namibia, or watching elephants wander past your safari vehicle. These moments, infused with mindfulness and presence, create a connection that lingers long after the journey ends.

How It All Began

My love for yoga started while sailing and scuba diving across the world. After 15 years of traveling, all roads led me back home to Namibia - to embark on a new adventure: blending my love for nature, movement, and mindful travel. Having worked as a travel consultant, guiding people through Namibia and Southern Africa, I knew I could create something truly special - yoga safaris that offer not just breathtaking landscapes, but deep personal connection and transformation.

Even though my roots are in Ashtanga, my years in nature have shaped my teaching into a more mindful, calming practice - one that blends beautifully with the rhythm of the wilderness. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced yogi, my yoga holidays are designed to be welcoming, supportive, and full of adventure. With small groups, every trip is personal, intimate, and tailored to create an unforgettable experience.

Looking forward to welcoming you on an adventure of a lifetime!
