This is our 3rd Girls that Scuba trip to Komodo, one of our favourite destinations in the world!
Located 200 nautical miles east of Bali, the Komodo National Park is nestled between the large island of Sumbawa and Flores in Indonesia, all of which are part of the Lesser Sunda Islands. Accepted under the UNESCO Man and the Biosphere Programme in January 1977, and officially declared a World Heritage Site in 1991, Komodo National Park encompasses 132,000 hectares of marine waters making it one of the largest protected zones on the planet.
Diving in Komodo National Park is best done by liveaboard (and we've chosen one of the best!), which allows you to explore the area to its fullest. The park and surrounding area boasts one of the world’s richest marine environments, with over 260 species of reef building coral, 70 species of sponge, marine worms, mollusks, echinoderms, crustaceans, over 1,000 species of cartilaginous and bony fish, marine reptiles, and marine mammals. Some notable marine species on this 9 night itinerary include pygmy seahorses, anglerfish, nudibranchs, manta rays, dolphins, Napolean wrasse and groupers.
The Amira

Tipping is not compulsory in Indonesia but 5–10% of your published package price per person is considered normal and appreciated.
Alcoholic beverages
Divers are required to have Advanced Open Water certification, or equivalent, with a minimum of 50 logged dives.
Komodo is known for its strong currents, breathtaking drop-offs, and world-class marine life, so confidence in your buoyancy and comfort in changing conditions is essential.
You can expect everything from drift dives teeming with pelagics to calm coral gardens alive with macro life. Water temperatures range from 24–28°C (75–82°F) depending on the site and season, with cooler thermoclines in the south and deeper areas.
Visibility is generally excellent, ranging from 15 to 30 meters, offering an unforgettable view of the vibrant underwater world Komodo is famous for.

You can choose how many dives you join each day, so whether you're a dive-every-dive enthusiast or prefer a slower pace, there’s flexibility to suit your style. We’ll also explore some of Komodo National Park’s iconic land sights, giving you a well-rounded experience of this stunning region.
