Experience the thrill of Tanzania on two wheels — a fast, rugged dive into the country’s most breathtaking landscapes and vibrant culture. Ride off-road through the open countryside, carve through winding mountain roads, and catch sight of wildlife as you travel the untamed route around Mount Kilimanjaro.
Chase flamingos along the shores of Lake Natron, journey deep into Maasai country, circle the slopes of Africa’s highest peak, and unwind in the crystal-clear waters of Chemka Hot Springs before heading back to Arusha.
This tour can easily turn into 8 nights as we can accommodate your hotel bookings for arrival and departure to Arusha.
Difficulty Level: This tour is best for intermediate riders. You should have some experience on varying. types of off-road terrain.
Leaving Arusha, the route heads north across wide savannah plains toward the Kenyan border, with Mount Meru fading behind you and Kilimanjaro rising in the distance. After a rest stop in Longido, the track becomes more remote and rugged, winding through Maasai country on the way to Kitumbeine, where we pause for lunch.
From there the landscape shifts dramatically as you descend into the Rift Valley, riding across volcanic terrain until the shimmering shores of Lake Natron appear — a striking finish framed by Ol Doinyo Lengai, the “Mountain of God.”
Lunch / Dinner
A rustic lodge nestled beneath towering acacias near Lake Natron, offering wide-open views of Ol Doinyo Lengai and the surrounding Maasai lands.
Start with an early morning guided lake walk with a Maasai Guide. Learn about the spiritual and ecological significance of Lake Natron all while looking for the Lake's famous Flamingoes.
From the stark volcanic landscapes of Lake Natron, the ride begins with sweeping views of Ol Doinyo Lengai and the Rift Valley cliffs towering above. The track winds through remote Maasai villages and dry riverbeds before climbing steadily out of the valley.
As you approach Mto wa Mbu, the scenery softens into fertile farmland, banana groves, and bustling village life — a dramatic contrast to the wild isolation of Natron. This stretch combines rugged adventure with a gradual re-entry into one of Tanzania’s most vibrant cultural crossroads.
Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner

Depart from Mto wa Mbu and head back towards Arusha. We will be mostly on Tarmac today until the last hour or so when we will be on small trails in and around local Maasai villages.
Many guests say today's off-road ride to our Lake View Lodge is the best riding of the tour.
After arrival we will enjoy a home cooked meal and amazing sunset views over Mt. Meru. End the evening around a bonfire under the stars — cold drinks, good company, and stories from the day’s ride.

We will then cruise to our accommodation for the next (2) nights which is a working farm set on 5,000 acres in the shadow of Kilimanjaro.
Enjoy a sundowner and a lovely fire under the stars.

We will make a lunch stop at the Kenyan border in the Rongai forest. From there, we will make our way to Moshi Town where we will stay high up in the foothills of Kilimanjaro in a local village

iRideArusha started as a dream between the two of us. I’m Kevin, originally from Chicago, where riding motorcycles gave me a sense of freedom and connection that shaped my early twenties. My wife, Sylvia, grew up in Tanzania and has always carried a deep love for this country—its people, landscapes, and traditions. Together, we decided to move here with the vision of sharing Tanzania in a way that felt real and adventurous.
That vision became iRideArusha.com. What began as our passion project has grown into tours, rentals, and riding experiences that let travelers discover Tanzania far beyond the typical safari. Every itinerary blends my love for adventure with Sylvia’s knowledge of the land and culture, creating journeys that are as much about connection as they are about riding. For us, it’s not just about motorcycles—it’s about opening the door to freedom, wonder, and the spirit of Tanzania.
