The Vision for Téigh – The Go Gathering is to seek the Lord together, discovering what He desires for us as we pray and dream of healthy, Christ-focused churches planted in the Gaeltacht and beyond. We long for churches rooted in faithful expositional preaching, where Irish and English—and every language present—are used naturally and joyfully to proclaim the Gospel.

When we gather, we will pray, sing, praise, teach, worship, learn, create, dance, eat, play, and laugh—celebrating the fullness of life in Christ and the beauty of every culture and gift He has given. We’ll discuss the nuances of language and culture, explore how the Gospel speaks through every dialect and tradition, and share some good craic as we grow together in faith and friendship.

Whether you’re a native Irish speaker, just learning your first “Dia dhuit,” or you come from another language background entirely, you are welcome. We believe every language and culture reflects something unique about God and His kingdom. If you love Christ, love the Irish language (in any dialect), or simply long to see the fame of Christ’s name grow across Ireland, come join us as we gather, grow, and go—together—back into our local churches and communities.

Connemara Gaeltacht

This area is the largest Irish-speaking region in Ireland, known for its strong Gaeltacht identity and vibrant cultural life. It is rich in Christian heritage, with deep monastic roots and breathtaking natural beauty that creates an atmosphere of peace and reflection. Throughout your time there, you’ll find countless opportunities for language immersion, cultural exploration, and spiritual retreat, making it an ideal setting for both learning and renewal.

Evangelical Context: West of Ireland

The evangelical presence in the west of Ireland—particularly in County Galway—remains small but is steadily growing, with many churches faithfully serving in that context. Irish is increasingly incorporated into worship for reasons of inclusivity, cultural preservation, and spiritual depth, helping congregations connect more fully with the communities they serve.

As this vision expands, we pray that the Lord will call many believers to plant healthy, hybrid Irish- and English-speaking churches throughout the Gaeltacht, strengthening both faith and cultural identity.

Gathering in the Connemara Gaeltacht offers a beautiful opportunity to celebrate Christ in a place where language, landscape, and spiritual heritage intertwine. In this region—the largest Irish-speaking area in the country—we honour generations who safeguarded both the Christian faith and the Irish language through hardship and change.

At Téigh: The Go Gathering, our heart is to worship, pray, and fellowship; we seek God’s guidance on how the Irish language and the many other languages of our island can continue to serve His glory and encourage His bride, the church.

Our hope is to see Matthew 16:18 fulfilled in Ireland—churches that are vibrant and culturally rooted, reflecting the heart of their communities and the timeless truth of the gospel. We long for Revelation 7:9 churches, where Irish, English, and every language are woven together in worship—not just in the Gaeltacht, but across the island.

To this end, we serve together and invite you to join us—for His glory and Ireland’s joy.

Origins: Where Did Téigh – The Go Gathering Come From?

(Bunús: Cé as a tháinig Téigh – The Go Gathering?)

Téigh: The Go Gathering; Gather, Grow, Go, is a unique annual event born out of a growing movement to see the Irish language and the gospel flourish together in Ireland. While Téigh exists as a standalone gathering with its own focus and team, it happily operates under the spiritual oversight and leadership of the Irish Gospel Partnership and in close fellowship with the Kinfire festival (kinfire.ie).

The idea for Téigh grew out of regular prayer among church leaders and the shared vision fostered at Kinfire. It is rooted deeply in the Irish-speaking Christian community, longing to see Christ’s name honoured in every language on this island.

Oversight & Facilitation
We are grateful for the support and accountability provided by the Irish Gospel Partnership (irishgospelpartnership.com), and for the practical facilitation offered by Edengate, a business-as-mission travel company passionate about serving gospel initiatives.

The Téigh stands on its own feet but is connected in heart and mission to these wider networks. We invite you to join us as we celebrate and advance the good news of Jesus through Irish, English, and every language represented in Ireland today.
