This brand-new tour focuses on the northern part of Italy. This two-week tour covers the best highlights, starting in Milan and continuing on to Turin, Genoa and the Cinque Terre, Bologna and Emilia Romagna, Verona and the Italian Alps, and ending in Lake Como.

Full itinerary

Wednesday, May 5
Arrival at Milan Airport in the morning. Transfer to our hotel near Milan. Afternoon rest and recover from jet lag. Have a group welcome dinner. Sleep in Milan for 2 nights.

Thursday, May 6
Visit the principal sights of Milan, including Leonardo Da Vinci’s the Last Supper masterpiece, the Duomo, and the Sforza Castle.

Friday, May 7
Transfer to Turin. Stop by Arona to take the boat to Isola Bella. Arrival in Turin. Stay three nights in Turin.

Saturday, May 8
Visit Turin's principal sights, including Piazza Statuto, Porta Palatina, Mole Antonelliana, and Piazza Castello. 

Sunday, May 9
Visit the surrounding Piedmont countryside including the Reggia di Venaria, Rivoli, and Superga. Visit a Deaf art mural in the historic Deaf building, and have lunch at a deaf-owned pub. 

Monday, May 10
Drive down to Genoa, stopping by the countryside of Albi for a gastronomic tour. In Genoa, visit the fascinating rugged port city with a local deaf guide. Continue on to the famous Cinque Terre. Sleep near the Cinque Terre for 2 nights.

Tuesday, May 11
Explore the Cinque Terre all day today, touring the five scenic villages! Learn to make pesto. Walk the Lover’s path from Riomaggiore to Manarola.

Wednesday, May 12
Drive to the Emilia Romagna region, known as one of Italy’s most famous food regions. In the afternoon, go to the Ferrari factory in Maranello. Sleep near Bologna for 2 nights.

Thursday, May 13
Visit a parmesan cheese factory to see how Parmesan is produced. Tour the center of Bologna with a deaf guide. In the evening, go to a deaf-owned bar in central Bologna. 

Friday, May 14
Drive up to Verona. Afternoon visit to Sirmione/Lake Garda. Sleep near Verona for 2 nights.

Saturday, May 15
Tour the highlights of Verona including the Roman Arena, Romeo and Juliet's houses, the marketplace square, and the Roman bridge. Afternoon free time in Verona.

Sunday, May 16
Drive through northern Italy with possible stop in Bergamo for the old town. Continue on to the Lake Como area. Stay in the Lake Como area for 2 nights.

Monday, May 17
Leisurely day to tour the highlights of Lake Como by van and also by boat, to soak in the beautiful scenery and its picturesque towns.

Tuesday, May 18
Transfer to the airport for your flight back home.

Serafino has worked with Hands On Travel since 2004 and has provided countless memories for all participants on our tours with thanks to his wide knowledge and experience of Italian history and culture. With this tour confirmation, your $500 deposit is now non-refundable in any event you need to back out. However, it may be transferable to a future tour.
