Full itinerary

Saturday, May 15
Arrival in Prague. Transfer and settle in our hotel. Light walking around central Prague. Enjoy our welcome dinner. Stay in Prague for 5 nights.

Sunday, May 16
Visit all morning at the Old Town with sights: the astronomical clock, Powder Tower, Jewish Quarter, Church of Our Lady and more.  Appreciate the gothic architecture sights of Prague.  Then all afternoon at the New Town with sights: Museum of Communism, deaf school & deaf club.

Monday, May 17
Explore Prague Castle, Letter Town, Royal Garden and St. Vitus Cathedral and Charles Bridge.  Ride on a historic tram throughout the city.

Tuesday, May 18
Visit the New Town with sights: Museum of Communism, deaf school, deaf club, etc. Ride on a historic tram throughout the city. Free time afterwards.

Wednesday, May 19
Ride in private van to Kutná Hora, visit the spooky Sedlec Ossuary (Bone Church), the Cathedral of the Assumption of Our Lady, and the breathtaking St. Barbara’s Church. Return to Prague by evening.

Thursday, May 20
Take the early morning train to Vienna. With a local Deaf guide, walk the Ringstrasse, Vienna’s famous boulevard, that include Opera, Parliament and Theater. Explore the Museums Quartier. Grab a slice of Vienna’s famous chocolate cake, Sacher Torte. Check out the Sigmund Freud Museum in the afternoon. Stay in Vienna for 4 nights.

Friday, May 21
See the original Gustav Klimt’s “The Kiss” at the magnificent baroque-style Belvedere Palace. Free afternoon to unwind near Naschmarkt, Vienna’s famous open-air market and St. Stephen’s Cathedral.

Saturday, May 22
Get ready for a road trip to Melk, home to its glorious 11th century abbey.  Spend the afternoon meandering down the river to a beautiful old town, Krems, by boat.  Shop a bit in Krems before returning to Vienna.

Sunday, May 23
It’s a MUSEUM day. Check out Hundertwasser Museum before arriving at the Museum Quartier houses where you will explore on your own: Art History Museum, Natural History Museum and/or Leopold Museum.

Monday, May 24
Take the morning train to Budapest. Afternoon orientation walk around central Budapest with a local Deaf guide. Visit the Shoes on the Danube Bank. Check out the ruin bars after dark. Stay in Budapest for 4 nights.

Tuesday, May 25
Enjoy a guided tour of the gothic-revival building, Hungary Parliament. Visit Buda Castle, a 13th century palace. Cross the Chain Bridge with stunning view of the Danube River. Evening visit to the Szechenyi thermal baths, one of the largest in Europe.

Wednesday, May 26
Explore Heroes’ Square in City Park, a historic landmark featuring statues of Hungary’s iconic leaders. Nearby, visit Vajdahunyad Castle. In the afternoon, take a scenic Danube River Cruise, offering breathtaking views of Budapest’s iconic landmarks from the water. For the rest of the day, visit the vibrant Jewish Quarter, including the Dohány Street Synagogue (the largest in Europe), Holocaust Memorial Center and ruin bars.

Thursday, May 27
Go to Memento Park. Go inside the neoclassical-style St. Stephen’s Basilica named after Hungary’s first King. Nearby, walk on Andrassy Avenue, Liberty Square and more.  Feast your eyes at the Great Market Hall. Free time before our farewell dinner.

Friday, May 28
Transfer to Budapest airport for your flight back home.

About your Tour Leader

Jan Wirth comes from a proud Deaf family in Prague, Czech Republic, where he lives near Prague Castle with his wife, Michala, and their two children, Lili and Teo.

He has been teaching Czech Sign Language at Charles University for over 15 years and serves as Chairman of Znakovárna, a Cultural and Educational Centre for the Deaf. He also organizes ZnakoFest, a festival celebrating Deaf culture.

Since 2020, Jan has been a licensed tour guide in Prague, sharing his passion for history, culture, and travel. A seasoned explorer, he once spent five weeks traveling solo through India.
