I was born and raised in Venice, and I adore my city! After graduating at the University in Venice Ca’ Foscari in Foreign Languages and Literature, I had the chance to travel and study abroad. My belief is that the labyrinth of Venice is a crossroads of human history, and I am passionate to share its story with your today...
As we step into St. Mark’s Square, the heart of Venetian life since the 9th century, our small group is greeted by the dazzling sight of St. Mark’s Basilica, its Byzantine domes shimmering in the light. The square comes alive around us, with melodies from dueling musicians weaving through the air and children laughing as they chase flocks of pigeons. Gathering at a cozy cafe, we soak in the grandeur and intimacy of Piazza San Marco, feeling the vibrant pulse of a city that has enchanted travelers for centuries.
St. Mark’s Basilica is one of Europe’s most celebrated churches and the final resting place of St. Mark the Evangelist. Entering its portal, we will be transported through a tapestry of world cultures. Byzantine mosaics will shimmer alongside Romanesque archways, while French Gothic pinnacles will rise above Muslim-inspired onion domes. Columns from Alexandria, capitals from Sicily, and carvings from Constantinople will whisper tales of Venice’s far-reaching influence. Together, we will marvel at the riot of domes, statues, gold mosaics, and vibrant marbles surrounding us, each detail a treasure that will dazzle the eyes and stir the soul.
Gazing at the Torre dell’ Orologio, two bronze African Muslims stand proudly atop the tower, their mechanical mallets poised to strike the hour. Below them, the stunning clock dial will display the full 24-hour day, a testament to Venetian ingenuity. Above the dial, we will marvel at the world’s first digital clock, an innovation that changes every five minutes, reminding us of Venice’s remarkable blend of art, culture, and forward-thinking design.
Standing tall as Venice’s original lighthouse and bell tower, the Campanile will transport our small group back to the 10th century. Though it dramatically toppled into the square in 1902, this iconic structure was meticulously rebuilt a decade later, preserving its historic legacy. As we take in its towering presence, we’ll reflect on its enduring role as a symbol of Venetian resilience and ingenuity.
Together, our small group will take in the view of the hauntingly beautiful Bridge of Sighs, where history whispers of justice once meted out within the Doge’s Palace. From this covered passageway, prisoners caught their final glimpse of sunlit Venice before entering the prison, their sighs echoing through the stone. The bridge, a striking blend of beauty and melancholy, will immerse us in the poignant tales of Venice’s past.
The Doge’s Palace is a fusion of Italian Gothic elegance and Islamic-inspired design, a reflection of Venice’s role as a crossroads of cultures. Originally constructed in the 9th century, the palace has been shaped over time, with each Doge leaving his mark by adding new decorations and embellishments. Standing before this awe-inspiring masterpiece, we’ll feel the weight of history woven into every intricate detail.
Today our journey ends at the iconic Rialto Bridge, the oldest of its kind in Venice, spanning the Grand Canal since the late 16th century. Once a bustling marketplace, its arches and stonework stand as a testament to Venice’s rich history and enduring charm.

Designated as the home of Venice’s glassmakers by the Doge to prevent fires in the city, Murano quickly became famous for its exquisite craftsmanship. Here, we’ll visit a Venetian glass factory, where master artisans will guide us through a tour and showcase their skill with a captivating glassblowing demonstration, carrying forward a centuries-old legacy.

The train ride to Assisi is a pleasant two-hour journey. We will enjoy the beautiful countryside of the Umbrian Region, famous for its olive orchards and rolling hills. As a medieval city, Assisi stands frozen in time and is set high on top of a hill. As the birthplace of St. Francis of Assisi, the Franciscan history of the town permeates every narrow cobblestone road and piazza.
My name is Maura, and I was born and raised in the Italian region of Umbria. After obtaining a degree in Art History from the University of Perugia, I became a licensed tour guide and have hosted travelers to my region for 25 years.
Umbria is a land of treasures! It is home to some of the most incredible pieces of artwork in the world. At the end of a working day, I always feel a sense of gratitude and pride for the unforgettable experiences which I have been able to share with my guests. These might include a day of walking the cobbled streets of magnificent hamlets such as Spello, the feeling of being overwhelmed by the famous and revolutionary frescoes painted by Giotto in the Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi, or savoring a glass of Sagrantino wine while admiring the breathtaking views of our gentle countryside.
I look forward to sharing the unique gift Umbria with you. It is a gift which cannot be lost, as it is given with an invisible link that will connect you to my homeland forever.
A) The House of St. Francis’ family, including the prison cell where Francis was locked-up by his irate father. (Ah, medieval parenting!)
B) The gothic Basilica of St. Clare which houses the San Damiano Cross.
C) Piazza Communale: sit outdoors and drink Umbria’s famous hot chocolate.
D) An ancient Mythric Temple that predates Christianity, which Christianity has now embraced.
E) The Cathedral of San Ruffino
F) The Basilica of St. Francis

My name is Rossella, I was born in Rome, and I love this wonderful city! My passion for Roman art and history started when I was a child and over the years I nurtured my passion by reading and studying art history in school. After my university studies, I spent time in London where I discovered how much I enjoy working with people from different cultural backgrounds. Upon returning to Rome, I turned my passion for art history and my love for working with people, into a job!. As an licensed Roman tour guide, I can't wait to share the Enteral City of Rome with you...
Our group will start the day with a visit to Campo dei Fiori, a lively market square whose name means “Field of Flowers,” a nod to its medieval past when it was a meadow. Now a bustling daily farmer’s market just a five-minute walk from our hotel, it brims with vibrant stalls offering fresh vegetables, fruits, cheeses, meats, and fish. Relax at a café with a real cappuccino, soaking in the lively atmosphere of a square that has been a hub of Roman life since the Renaissance.
We’ll step into Piazza Navona, one of Rome’s most magnificent squares, built on the site of the ancient Stadium of Domitian in the 1st century AD. Its elongated shape reflects its origins as a chariot racing track. Today, it is adorned with Bernini’s famous Fountain of Four Rivers and brims with artisans, gelato shops, restaurants, and street performers, capturing the vibrant and romantic spirit of Rome.
Welcome to the Church of San Luigi Francese, a stunning 16th-century church dedicated to St. Louis of France. Inside, we’ll admire three priceless Caravaggio paintings that depict dramatic and vivid scenes from the life of St. Matthew, considered masterpieces of Baroque art.
Our small group will marvel at the Pantheon, the best-preserved monument of ancient Rome, originally completed by Emperor Hadrian in 126 AD. This architectural wonder, famed for its massive dome and oculus, was a temple dedicated to all Roman gods before being consecrated as a Christian basilica in 609 AD. Its ingenious design, with a dome still considered one of the largest unsupported structures in the world, continues to inspire awe centuries later.

In the Alban Hills lies a string of hill towns and vineyards called the Castelli Romani. The "Roman Castles" are like Tuscany in miniature, a baker's dozen of medieval hill towns nestled among vineyards and lakes just 13 miles south of Rome.
The history of Grottaferrata identifies largely with that of the Basilian Monastery of Santa Maria, founded here in 1004 by Saint Nilus the Younger. The founding legend narrates that, at the spot where the abbey now stands, the Virgin Mary appeared and bade him to found a church in her honor. The library of the Abbey, which contains some 50,000 volumes, including hand written copies of the bible dating to the 8th century.
This striking town in the Region of Lazio overlooks Lake Albano and is located about 15 miles southeast of Rome in the Alban Hills. It is best known as the summer residence of the Pope. As a small Italian village with a population of 8834, this town is consistently voted one of the most beautiful towns in Italy. The resort community includes almost the whole coastline of Lake Albano and is surrounded by many summer residences and villas built in the 17th century. Hike around on your own, soak in the atmosphere, and enjoy this beautiful resort town of the Castelli Romani.
This is the oldest winery in the Castelli Romani. Between Frascati and Monte Porzio, this winery also produces fabulous olive oil. The winery is located in a converted convent founded by Saint Benedetta…an ancestor of the current family-owners. Enjoy great wines from the Castelli Romani!

Our small group will enjoy exclusive access to the Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel, bypassing the daunting public entrance line that often stretches for hours. Within the Vatican Museum, founded by Pope Julius II in 1506, we’ll explore one of the world’s most significant collections of art, spanning centuries of history and culture. The highlight of our visit will be the Sistine Chapel, adorned with Michelangelo’s iconic ceiling frescoes, completed between 1508 and 1512, depicting scenes from Genesis, including the famous "Creation of Adam."
St. Peter’s Basilica is one of the most iconic and historically significant churches in the world. Originally commissioned by Emperor Constantine in the 4th century, the basilica was later transformed during the Renaissance by Michelangelo, Bramante, and Bernini. Inside, we’ll admire Michelangelo’s Pieta, a stunning marble sculpture created in his early twenties, alongside numerous other masterpieces. This sacred site also houses the body of Pope John XXIII and the tombs of many Popes, offering a profound glimpse into centuries of spiritual and artistic history.

Morning train departure for Naples.
A private minivan will carry us to Pompeii and Positano. The Amalfi Coastline itself winds its way along scenic cliffs, following the Mediterranean Sea. For many, this is “Paradiso in Terra” or “Paradise on Earth!” Enjoy the panoramic views…
Buongiorno, everyone! My name is Ludovica, I am an archaeologist and a licensed Tourist Guide for Campania Region. I am proudly Neapolitan! I grew up in Naples with a burning passion for archaeology, history and the natural beauties of my city and its surrounding region. After years of working in archaeological excavations, my need to share what I discovered finally won... and I have been a full-time guide since 2009. Welcome to the spirit and history of my magical land!
Pompeii was first occupied in the 8th century BC. A local guide will explain how the Etruscans first dominated the surrounding region, followed by the Saminites who turned Pompeii into a Greek town. Finally the Romans gained control over Pompeii until its end, that fateful day in 79 AD when Mt. Vesuvius unleashed its fury on the 20,000 inhabitants of this thriving Roman city. Although this tragic event ended the lives of 20,000 Pompeian residents, the ash that buried the town served as a sort of mummification for the entire city. Under the ash everything remained as it was at the time of the eruption: Artwork was preserved. Buildings were preserved. Several important clues were left behind. These clues give us a glimpse into the past and capture a special moment in time...
Our small group will unwind in Positano, a picturesque seaside village that has captivated visitors since its days as a vital trading port during the Amalfi Republic in the 10th century. Hotel Pupetto, nestled along a beach of black volcanic stone meeting the turquoise-blue Mediterranean waters, provides the perfect retreat. Stroll the charming, winding roads, explore exquisite ceramic shops and high-fashion boutiques, or take a leisurely walk along the beach. For the adventurous, there are scenic hiking opportunities. Positano is not about rushing to see landmarks—it’s a place to soak in nature’s beauty and recharge your spirit. And of course, don’t forget to savor a refreshing limoncello as you take in the magical surroundings...

Today we embark a private chartered boat to explore the breathtaking Amalfi Coast, one of the Mediterranean’s most stunning destinations and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997. Cruising along the southern coastline, we’ll marvel at dramatic cliffs, colorful seaside villages, and sparkling azure waters. Along the way, there will be opportunities to dive in and enjoy a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear sea, making this a truly unforgettable day on the water.
Our small group will disembark to explore the enchanting “Grotto Smeraldo,” or Emerald Grotto, a natural cave carved into the Amalfi Coast’s rugged cliffs. Inside, a smaller boat will guide us through the grotto’s serene waters. As sunlight filters through an underwater opening, it transforms the water into a mesmerizing display of emerald-blue light, a phenomenon first discovered by local fishermen in the 1930s. This magical experience offers a unique glimpse into the natural wonders of the Mediterranean Sea...
*Disembarking is dependent upon sea conditions.
We’ll dine like the locals at a hidden, family-run restaurant accessible only by private boat, a tradition rooted in the Amalfi Coast’s centuries-old maritime culture. Our larger boat will anchor offshore, and smaller boats will ferry us to this secluded gem. Known for its fresh, local seafood and offerings from both land and sea, the restaurant is a favorite among local fishermen but remains a well-kept secret from most tourists. This authentic dining experience will be a true highlight of our day.
After lunch, our small group will boat to the historic City of Amalfi, a medieval seaside village that was once a powerful maritime republic in the 10th and 11th centuries. Here, you’ll have free time to explore its picturesque streets and visit the stunning Amalfi Cathedral, built in the 9th century and serving as the final resting place of the Apostle Saint Andrew. Stroll through quaint shops, relax at a cozy café, or savor a creamy gelato as you soak in the timeless beauty of this coastal gem.
After Amalfi, we’ll return to Positano for a free evening to enjoy this little slice of paradise. Stroll along the beach, soak in the beauty, or simply relax as the Mediterranean Sea sets the perfect tone for your evening.

While the gas station offers a public restroom—it’s functional, not fancy—but a convenient rest stop before our journey. The scenic ride to Naples will take approximately 1.5 hours, offering stunning views of the Amalfi Coast along the way.
Our hotel in Naples is beautifully situated on the waterfront bay, offering stunning views of Mount Vesuvius and the historic Castel dell’Ovo, a fortress originally built in the 12th century on the site of a Roman villa. After check-in, our small group will embark on a three-hour guided walk through Naples’ vibrant historic district. Highlights include the Cathedral of San Gennaro (renowned for its ornate frescoes and as the site of the "Miracle of the Blood"), the Via San Gregorio Armeno (famous for its charming stalls of handcrafted Nativity scenes), and other delightful surprises along the way.
Keyrow Tours coordinates the ambiance and the magic of travel. However, YOU are the travelers soaking in the experience. You become the experts!
Each evening, a few guests will be asked to present a brief reflection: there is no right or wrong with your reflection.
This could be something simple like sharing what your favorite observation was from earlier in the day. Previous Keyrow travelers have read passages from books, shared prior travel memories, created custom poems, and offered personal thoughts on their life's journey…the possibilities are endless!
“When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that’s amore!”
The natives of Naples claim that their city is the original home to authentic pizza. The world’s first pizzeria opened its doors in Naples and still remains in business today. Using the simplest of ingredients, Pizza Margherita is a triumph of Neapolitan cuisine… the humble ingredients of fresh San Marzano pomodori (tomatoes), fresh aromatic basil and mozzarella (di bufala) on char-marked dough is all that is required to make this highly-praised and delicious pizza. The colors of red, white, and green represent the official colors of the Italian flag. Fresh, and bubbly-hot straight out of a wood-fired oven… pizza in Naples might change your life!
“Open my heart and you will see, graved inside of it, Italy.”
~ Robert Browning

Once upon a time, a group of strangers from different corners of the world embarked on a journey through the enchanting cities of Italy. In Venice, they glided along the canals in gondolas, mesmerized by the historic beauty of the floating city. Each traveler, with their unique stories and backgrounds, shared laughter and anecdotes as they wandered through the winding streets and historic piazzas.
In Florence, they stood in awe of Renaissance art and architecture, discovering the rich cultural heritage of the city. The strangers found joy in savoring gelato under the Tuscan sun and sharing their favorite spots for espresso and pastries.
As they made their way to the peaceful town of Assisi, they were touched by the spiritual serenity of St. Francis' Basilica and felt a deep sense of connection with each other. Bonds of friendship formed as they exchanged personal reflections and discovered shared values and beliefs.
In the grandeur of Rome, the group marveled at ancient ruins and majestic landmarks, feeling the weight of history in every cobblestone. They shared meals of pasta and wine, relishing in the simple pleasures of good food and good company.
Journeying south to the picturesque coastal town of Positano, they basked in the warmth of the Mediterranean sun and the beauty of the Amalfi Coast. Theygazed at the cascading pastel buildings and shimmering sea while forming lasting memories and friendships.
Finally, in bustling Naples, they savored the vibrant street life and savory pizza, feeling grateful for the companionship and camaraderie that had blossomed throughout their travels. As they bid farewell, the strangers knew that their paths may diverge, but the bond they had forged would remain a cherished memory of their unforgettable journey through Italy.
