This morning you will enjoy an AMAZING guided bus tour throughout many famous areas of the crescent city. One of the grand highlights of the tour is Lake Pontchartrain. This is a popular summer destination for locals and fishermen. The bridge crossing the lake is even in the Guinness book of World Records. There is a dirty little secret about Lake Pontchartrain, it isn’t really a lake. It’s a giant estuary that feeds into the Gulf of Mexico for 630 miles. Our guide will note where the flood wall broke during Hurricane Katrina. This guided tour will also take you through the Garden District which is full of elegant mansions and picturesque gardens. This area is referred to as “uptown”. Included in the tour is a coffee and beignet stop at the world-famous Café du Monde. Another incredible highlight of this guided bus tour is a visit to St. Louis No. 3 Cemetery. Your guide will tell you stories and make a few stops for an up-close glimpse of unique tombs where the dead rise six feet up instead of six feet under. Next on the tour is City Park, a popular spot with winding roads and mossy oaks. This 1300-acre outdoor oasis has enchanted New Orleans natives since 1854. Throughout the entire 2.5-hour bus tour, your guide will point out the areas that were devastated by Hurricane Katrina and many areas that have been rebuilt. This is sure to capture a ton of wonderful areas of New Orleans. After lunch o your own you may choose to join us on an included tour of the Sazerac House. Learn about this legendary New Orleans cocktail and the history of liquor in New Orleans. Dinner on own. Overnight New Orleans.
