Heritage, Humility, and Humor with Chad Filley
Start your Saturday with a journey across the Atlantic without ever leaving the Nome Schoolhouse. Join us for a special morning performance by Chad Filley, widely known as The Norsk Storyteller.
While Friday night was about the "hilarity," Saturday is about the "heart." Chad acts as a "time machine," bridging the gap between the Scandinavian immigrants who built our heartland and the generations that follow today. Drawing from his travels through the Faroe Islands and personal tributes to his grandmother, Lily Filley, Chad shares rare stories of struggle, triumph, and the enduring traditions of our ancestors.
The Voices of the Heartland: Authentic tales of the Scandinavian-American experience delivered with a historian’s precision and a comedian’s wit.
Rare Tales: Stories gathered firsthand from Scandinavia and the Faroe Islands that are seldom heard in North America.
A "Hysterical & Historical" Journey: A performance that honors the past while keeping the audience laughing.
Location: The Nome Schoolhouse
Time: 10:00 AM
Atmosphere: A cozy, storytelling environment perfect for families and heritage lovers.

"Chad Filley is the reason we still know the stories of the folks who crossed the ocean. He just won’t let them be forgotten." — Otto Johannsen
North Dakota native Chad Filley took the comedy scene by storm in 2010. He has appeared in numerous comedy clubs in the Upper Midwest, California, Las Vegas, and Norway. He has even twerked on the hallowed stage of the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.
