Join us for an immersive day of learning the timeless art of Long Leaf Pine needle basket weaving, led by Carrie Schneider of Woven in Time Baskets from Bismarck, ND. Carrie began weaving baskets over 30 years ago, and seven years ago, she discovered her love for pine needle weaving, a craft she’s been passionately perfecting ever since.

In this introductory class, Carrie will guide you through the foundational techniques of pine needle basket weaving, showing you how to create beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces with natural materials. Carrie’s love for rocks, gems, and minerals also comes into play as she often incorporates these natural elements into her work, lending each basket a unique, earthy touch.

This hands-on workshop will cover everything from preparing materials to weaving techniques, all with Carrie's expert guidance. Whether you're a beginner or have some experience in basket weaving, you’ll leave with a deeper appreciation for the craft and your very own handmade pine needle basket.

Come and experience the meditative and rewarding art of basket weaving in the warm, inspiring setting of the historic Nome Schoolhouse!

Class will begin at 10 am, includes a delicious lunch and will conclude around 3pm.

 Your Instructors and the Nome Schoolhouse do much to prepare for your arrival. To honor the work that we put towards your place in the class there is a firm time frame around when and how refunds are given. Tickets may be transferred to another person upon approval by the Nome Schoolhouse.
