Trip Itinerary highlights include:

• 🌌 Stargazing in the International Dark Sky Park region

• 🏡 Stay in a cozy home with hot tub, hammocks, game room, and views of the San Jacinto Mountains

• 🏜️ Learn about the Joshua Tree and its unique desert ecosystems 

• 🥾 Hike through fascinating rock formations such as Split Rock and Skull Rock

• ⛏️ Check out the mining history of the Desert Queen & Wall Street Mines

• 🌅 Take in the breathtaking panoramas from Keys View

• 📿 Build meaningful connections through khatiras, reflections, and community building activities

  
  

This is a beginner level trip: the activities and hikes planned are slightly challenging but can be done by those with limited outdoor experience. All participants will need to bring good quality hiking boots to complete planned hikes in the itinerary.

Important Information (please read before booking):

- Transportation to the trip location is not covered by Ma'wa Collective. It is the responsibility of participants to do their due diligence to check on travel logistics before signing up for the trip, including checking flight availability and pricing if you are not local to the area.

- All deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE.

🏠 Lodging: There is one large lodge/home reserved for this trip with 4 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. Each bedroom has a different configuration of beds - you may register for your preferred sleeping arrangement via our booking platform. The lodging reserved for this trip is located in Desert Hot Springs, CA - about a 30 minutes drive from Palm Springs or a 2.5 hour drive from Los Angeles. Participants should be prepared for some driving/commuting over the course of the weekend to reach the hikes and activities planned in the itinerary.

✈️ Flights: - If you will be flying in for this trip, we recommend flying into Palm Springs International Airport: arrival must be no later than 3 pm on Friday, October 24th, and departure no earlier than 1pm on Monday, October 27th. If you are flying in from Los Angeles (LAX), we recommend arriving no later than 12pm noon on Friday, October 24th, and departing no earlier than 2pm on Monday, October 27th

 🚗 Carpools: While we can assist with arranging carpools among participants, we cannot guarantee that every Trip will have local participants that are able to volunteer their personal cars and offer a carpool. In some cases, a rental car may be the only option for carpooling. Some participants will need to volunteer as drivers for the rentals and the cost of the rental car is not covered by Ma’wa Collective.
