We will take an overnight flight to Athens, Greece.

Today we arrive in the ancient city of Athens. We will take a coach bus from the airport to our hotel right in the heart of the historic capital. The birthplace of western civilization is full of remnants and evidence of ancient philosophers Socrates, Plato and Aristotle.

Today we will stroll along an optional walking tour of some of the iconic sights and marvel at the birthplace of the Olympic games.

Enjoy an evening to explore this inviting capital city. You may even have time to visit the Acropolis Museum to gain some insight for tomorrow’s tour.

This morning starts a day filled with ancient history. We will embark on a tour of the Parthenon on the Acropolis grounds. In around 447-432 BC, Pericles ordered the entire grounds of the Acropolis to be built. The ruins of the white marble intricately designed structures have seen some wear and tear, but still stand tall above the city leaving an impressive vision that you will remember for a lifetime.

You can enjoy lunch on your own and then an afternoon to continue to explore as you wish.

You may wish to visit the Acropolis Museum, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Syntagma Square, Hadrian’s Arch, Temple of Olympian Zeus, or go back to the hotel for a nap.

Tonight at 6 pm we will embark on a Greek City Food Tour. We get a chance to experience many Greek delicacies as we meander the old districts of Ancient Athens.

Today we will check out of our hotel and take a short flight to the largest Greek Island, Crete. It is situated in the southern Agean Sea. We will land in the charming old harbour town of Chania and make way to our hotel or guest house.

After we get settled in, we will begin an optional walking tour of Chania. Evening of free time to explore more of the old town or the harbour area. Overnight Chania.

Today is free day for you to explore the western side of Crete. Some wonderful options in Chania are spending the day at Elafonisi pink sand beach or Balos Lagoon. You may want to take a wine and olive oil tour through the Kissamos region. Whatever you choose, we are sure that it will capture the natural beauty and historic culture of this side of Crete.

We will check out of our wonderful hotel and head to the larger city of Heraklion. This afternoon we will wander through the old town and the waterfront. We will visit the central market place which is a fantastic spot for souvenirs. We will visit the Morosini (Lion) fountain, Loggia and more. That night you may choose to stroll through the venetian port and see the Koules Fortress by night.

This morning, we will head to the port to catch a ferry to the stunning volcanic island of Santorini.

In the afternoon we will take a short walking tour and have time to acclimate to our new once-in-a-lifetime home for the next two days.

We will stay in the famous Caldera Cliffs region and admire the romantic landscape both night and day. Overnight Santorini.

Breakfast will not be included as it is very difficult to provide for our cliff homes.

Another day begins in the surreal environment of sweet Santorini. It is a completely free day. You may wish to visit the unique beaches like Kamari Beach with black volcanic sands, Red Beach with its red sand and turquoise waters, or Perissa Beach with its watersports and tavernas. Some travelers ride horses on these lovely beaches. You may want to make your way to Akrotiri, the ancient archaeological site known as the Aegean Pompeii. Akrotiri was engulfed by volcanic ash around 1627 BC. The catastrophic eruption served as a natural time capsule that preserved its structures and artifacts. Another option might be to spend the day on a Catamaran Tour with a bbq lunch and drinks. This catamaran tour passes other nearby Greek islands like Thirasia and stops for swimming and snorkeling. Another wonderful option is to go on a wine tasting experience throughout the island. You will get a chance to explore other parts of the island as you sip Greek wines. Be sure to have your camera handy for amazing views and unique scenery. You may wish to hike from Oia to Fira which is on the other side of the island. There is a long winding trail that showcases the natural beauty of the island. You can also take a local bus to Fira on the other side of the island. It is a shopping hub with more beautiful views. Maybe you want to just enjoy the iconic views and tranquility from your Caldera Cliff home. We have the evening to relax on our own and enjoy the views/local foods in Oia.

Overnight Santorini.

Today we will have to leave paradise as we have come to know it. Someone will come for your luggage and we will meet our transfers to the Santorini Airport for your homebound flights.
