About your trip

This is a special one. We gather once again at the lush eco-resort Villa Sumaya, located on Guatemala's world-renowned Lake Atitlán, for a week of yoga, amazing food, ritual lake swims, ancestral ceremony and vibrant new (and renewed) friendships. A deep recharge in a world gone slightly impossible. And if my past visits are any indication, it's going to be truly magical.

• $500 deposit required to hold your space

• Refunds only allowed if we (or you) can find someone to fill your spot

• Early-bird registration - Paid in full by Sept 1 save 10%! (use code EARLY)

• Behold a gallery of Sumaya's amazing room options, to help you select a package (below)

BE ADVISED

Yoga Alchemy is not suited for absolute beginners or those dealing with serious injury. A reasonable level of fitness/yoga experience is assumed. Some suites require lots of stairs to achieve. Also, the mountains and volcanoes around Villa Sumaya are a bit rugged and challenging. (And you’ll want to explore). Please plan accordingly.

About Lake Atitlán

Lake Atitlán, located in the Sierra Madre de Chiapas mountain range, is celebrated as one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. It’s famous for its stunning vistas, most notably the three breathtaking volcanoes to the south. The lake itself rests inside an enormous caldera, formed from an eruption some 85,000 years ago (you know, give or take a few). More here

About your organizer

One of the Bay Area's premier yoga instructors *and* most provocative writers, Mark has been leading fiery Vinyasa classes, workshops and retreats in SF and around the world (and, most recently, via Zoom) since 1999. He's also a father, an author and was, for more than 20 years, an award-winning columnist at the SF Chronicle and SFGate.com (currently excommunicado). He was raised by long-eyelashed callipygian wood nymphs and spoon fed dark chocolate, raw pomegranate seeds, Shaiva Tantra mantras and artisan bourbon until he could fly.
