Sink into Fall with a day of yoga, flower crafting, mead tastings and light lunch fare in Point Reyes Station! The day begins with an invigorating all levels yoga practice set amongst Heidrun Meadery's flower fields followed by light bites and mead (or honey for non-drinkers) in the Olive Grove. We'll finish our time together learning how to create a festive flower crown in honor of the harvest season!
Heidrun Meadery opened it's doors to the public in Point Reyes Station in 2012 and hhas been making mead since 1997. Since then, the 16 acre property has been transformed from a dairy farm into a bee forage oasis. The serene property boasts a large converted barn which acts as the production facility and a charming greenhouse turned tasting room & gift shop, all surrounded by 16 acres of flowers fields, trees and bee's! In their pastures, gardens and greenhouse they cultivate flowering plants to provide healthy, natural, yearlong forage for their honey bee colonies, which you will have the opportunity to visit while on the farm.
Yoga will be held in the Olive Grove adjacent to the flower fields. Marina's classes are a steady paced, invigorating flow structured to awaken and empower while remaining deeply nourishing. Her teachings follow the seasons and are inspired by nature and the elements. Her main teachers and major influences have been Abby Tucker, Nubia Teixeira, Alexandria Crow & Kaya Mindlin. Please bring a yoga mat, water bottle and any probs you with to use. Open to all levels of yoga experience.
After class we will be guided through a mead tasting comprised of 4 different single varietal meads (amounting to about a glass in total). We will enjoy our tasting alongside a locally sourced grazing board. After we nourish or bellies, we'll work with our hands in making a flower crown. You're welcome to linger beyond our end time of 2pm to try more meads or dive into a delicious honey tasting! You might also choose to throw on your flower crown and head into town or to one of the many local beaches!
A sumptuous grazing board complete with local cheeses, dips, veggies, nuts and crackers will be provided by Siren Sisters Catering. We will enjoy our nibbles in the Olive Grove (or at an indoor space if the weather isn't cooperating) alongside our mead tasting.
The flowers will be sourced from offsite as the flowers growing at Heidrun are for our Bee friends. Marina will be guiding participants through the process of creating their very own beautiful fresh flower crown and has over 10 years of experience as a floral artist.
4 Varietals (amounts to about 1 glass of mead)
