This retreat is exclusively for plus-size women.  It's ideal for those who enjoy a mix of luxury, immersive experiences, walking tours, and a balance between bustling city life and a calm lakeside environment. 

From cooking classes, coffee farm tours, and textile weaving demonstrations to chocolate-making workshops and learning about medicinal plants from midwives, this retreat is perfect for the more adventurous travelers who are socially conscious and want to give back and get involved.

Everyone has different mobility levels, and we want to be as transparent about accessibility as possible. We will spend most days on walking tours and / or doing activities that require standing. Travelers will have free time most evenings and a free day during the trip trip. We also want to remind you that all of the activities are voluntary.

When advised, please book your flights to and from La Aurora International Airport (GUA) in Guatemala City.

After you sign up for the retreat you'll be added to the Guapas in Guatemala Group in our private Network. This is where you can connect with other travelers on your tour and ask questions.

Itinerary subject to adjustment at the discretion of the Fat Girls Traveling Team due to weather or other extenuating circumstances.

If you cancel within 200 days of the tour, 50% of the total trip cost is non-refundable.

If you cancel within 150 days of the tour, 75% of the total trip cost is non-refundable. 

If you cancel 120 days or less before the tour, 100% of the total trip cost is non-refundable. 

If we cancel the tour, you will receive a full refund. 

In the event of illness, injury, or other extenuating circumstances affecting the trip, the departure will be rescheduled. If you can not attend during the new dates, your deposit will be transferred to another trip.

After breakfast today, prepare for an unforgettable day trip to a local coffee farm. You’ll connect with a cherished coffee farmer and his family, embark on a fascinating tour of the farm, and immerse yourself in the rich history of the Guatemalan coffee industry. All while savoring an authentic and delicious lunch.

After your tour and meal, return to your hotel for a revitalizing siesta before stepping into the spotlight for your photo shoot. You will feel empowered at the Guapas in Guatemala photoshoot, held during the Jade Workshop at a dynamic, women-owned design studio. This studio specializes in transforming ethically sourced jade, a beautiful stone that is native to Guatemala, into exquisite jewelry and treasured mementos.

During the photo session, you’ll confidently strike poses, both solo and with your group, wearing an outfit with shades of jade, creating a vibrant contrast with the studio’s industrial backdrop. Plus, you’ll collaborate with a talented designer to turn your jade stone into something uniquely meaningful that you will cherish forever.

Finally, wrap up your day by embracing the art of mixology in a private cocktail class. Sip local spirits, master cocktail techniques, and enjoy a delectable dinner that will leave a lasting impression. Don’t miss out on this extraordinary experience!

Today is all about girl power, so you'll have an early start as you depart Antigua for an adventure on Lake Atitlán. This stunning lake in Guatemala's highlands is considered one of the most beautiful in the world. It's surrounded by three volcanoes and distinct Mayan villages, including San Juan La Laguna.

After your morning ride to the Guatemalan highlands, you'll arrive in Pana to take a lancha (boat) to San Juan La Laguna, where you'll enjoy lunch and explore women-led crafts. You'll get to taste the sweet fruit of your labor in a chocolate workshop, you'll enjoy a textile demonstration, and learn about medicinal plants from local midwives.

Your day will end at Hotel Atitlan, watching the sunset on the lake while you relax in a hot tub. After you're feeling relaxed and restored, you'll enjoy dinner and drinks and cheers to you, night on the lake.

Although this Retreat is short and sweet, making time to rest, restore, and reset is essential. So today you'll be free to explore Lake Atitlán and Antigua. The group will be leaving the lake at 1 PM, so after breakfast, you can go back to sleep, lounge by the pool, or explore the area.

Once you return to Antigua, you can spend your final day in the Unesco City souvenir shopping, sightseeing, or exploring before our gourmet Farewell Dinner.

There are no activities planned on departure day. As you head to the airport, you'll carry with you more than souvenirs.
