After landing at the Kotoka International Airport, your private Away to Africa driver will transport you to your lodging in Accra.
Upon arrival, Away to Africa will welcome you to the Motherland with authentic, Ghanaian cuisine before you settle in for the evening.
Today you will take a short flight to Kumasi, located in the Ashanti Region of Ghana and serves as the land of Asantemen. Enjoy today as you visit craft villages around Kumasi showcasing traditional crafts including Kumasi Kente cloth weaving, Adinkra cloth stamping, brass smithing and wood carving.
Today you will travel to Home of the Ashanti King, Manhyia Palace, and the Komfo Anokye Sword.
You will then continue to Lake Bosumtwi, Ashanti and Ghana’s only natural lake occurring inside a meteorite crater.
Today you will travel to Accra and rest for the day until it is time to head out to one of the most anticipated Ghanaian events of the year; Afrochella.
Today you will spend your day traveling to Cape Coast where we will visit Fort Amsterdam, Cape Coast & Elmina Castle. Listen to stories tracing the steps of African ancestors before their brutal voyage to the West before partaking in a naming ceremony.
Afterwards, you will enjoy dinner overlooking the ocean.
Today you will continue our voyage throughout Cape Coast and head to a canopy walkway in the middle of a forest. Brace yourself as you walk 100 feet in the air at Kakum National Park. You will rest and enjoy lunch on the coast at One Africa Guest Resort before an evening cultural performance with drumming and dancing by Akumapa group.
Spend your New Year’s Eve relaxing on the beach or you have the option to stay in and relax before the New Year that we will bring in overlooking the city!
Today you will travel throughout the Volta Region learning the history of Volta Dam, one of the world’s largest man-made lakes.
For the evening relax at your accommodation along the riverfront!
Today you will travel to Wli Waterfalls, the highest waterfall in Ghana and West Africa.
We will continue the day with travels to Akosombo where we will check into our hotel and relax for the remaining of the evening.
Today you will travel into the serene Aburi Mountains where you will visit Aburi Botanical Gardens and spend a couple of hours volunteering in the community of Aburi through our affiliate community outreach program.
Travel to the W.E.B. Dubois Memorial Centre for Pan African Culture to learn of the Pan African influence throughout the Diaspora. Learn the missions of great leaders such as Maya Angelou and Malcolm X, who traveled throughout Ghana to witness the works of Pan African leaders.
The second half of our day is made for relaxing and listening to music along Bojo (or Labadi) beach. End the night on the rooftop at SkyBar Lounge or Coco Beach.
Wake up early for an early breakfast and take some time to reflect on your life-changing experience in Mama Africa.
After breakfast we will depart for Kotoko International Airport airport for your departure home.
