Disconnect to Reconnect: A Summertime Retreat
Join us for a nourishing three-night summertime retreat designed to help you step away from the noise of everyday life and return to what truly matters. Disconnect to Reconnect is an invitation to unplug—leave your phone off, slow down, and enjoy meaningful connection with yourself, nature, and community.
Hosted by Amy DeLong-Martin, Pilates teacher with over 16 years of experience, and Charlie Harrison, yoga teacher for over 12 yrs, this retreat offers a balanced blend of movement, mindfulness, and rest. Each day will include Pilates and Yoga sessions, along with guided mindfulness practices, time for hiking, and plenty of space to relax and simply be.
This retreat takes place at Bell Valley’s Whisper Tree Retreat Center, nestled on 600 acres of beautiful, wild land. Guests will enjoy comfortable accommodations, access to a hot tub, and our meals will be thoughtfully prepared by Anthony and his team from Sacred Kitchen www.sacredkitchensf.com to support your well-being.
In your free time, explore nearby attractions such as Vichy Hot Springs, local wineries, scenic hiking trails, a trip to the beach and charming shops—all just a short drive away.
Whether you’re seeking renewal, clarity, or a deeper sense of connection, this retreat offers the perfect setting to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect—inside and out.
Hi, I’m Amy!
I’m so excited to welcome you to this year’s “Disconnect to Reconnect” retreat at the beautiful Whisper Tree Retreat Center. I’ve had the joy of hosting several retreats here over the years, and each one feels like a heartfelt homecoming.
I’m a comprehensively trained Pilates instructor with over 16 years of experience, a Reiki Level 2 practitioner, and the owner of Centered Body Studio in Pleasant Hill, CA. My background is in dance, and I hold a BFA in Dance from the University of Arizona. Movement, mindfulness, and healing have always been at the core of my work.
Incorporating Reiki into my practice has deepened the way I support clients, bringing in energy work and meditation for those seeking more profound healing and balance. Now in my 50th trip around the sun, I finally feel like an adult… though the whimsy, curiosity, and playfulness of childhood have happily stayed with me. I love sharing that sense of joy (and a little mischief!) with my clients, especially on retreat.
This year, I’m thrilled to be co-hosting alongside the wonderful Charlie Harrison, whom you’ll learn more about below. I can’t wait to share this nourishing, grounding, and joyful experience with you.
Hi, I'm Charlie! I have been practicing yoga since the '90's and teaching for over a decade. Yoga is the framework for how I live my life. I have 2 excellent adult kids, 2 little dogs (even though I always thought I was a big dog person), a hilarious, kick-ass husband. I love all things Sci-fi. I read a lot. I am always up to take a yoga class. I really like going to trainings. I think that we can all agree that food is delicious, travel is exciting, and animals are adorable and intelligent.
Prior to teaching yoga the majority of my work life was in hospitality. I had most every job available in a restaurant or catering service. I have always enjoyed planning a special event for people. Bringing people together with beautiful food, great music, at a unique venue can be the foundation for special memories.
When teaching yoga my intention is to guide students of all backgrounds toward greater strength, balance, and connection both on and off the mat. With foundational training in Vinyasa and hatha traditions and advanced certifications in trauma-informed yoga and accessibility, I create classes that honor each student’s unique body, breath, and nervous system.
On our first evening together, we will share a meal and get to know one another. Some light movement to help us stretch after the drive, and celebrate our time together around the fire pit with s'mores!
We'll start the day with an energizing Pilates Mat class and then breakfast followed by a beautiful hike and journaling. After lunch you have a choice of options from wine tasting and goat farm to enjoying a scheduled massage. Then we'll have a cozy dinner together and finish up with a relaxing yoga practice.
On our third day together we will start the day with an uplifting yoga class in the barn, followed by breakfast. We will have an optional outing scheduled for the afternoon. Upon our return and after a bit of free time, we will gather for dinner, and end with intentional dance and movement party/class.
On our final day together, we will get one more chance to move together. Then we will enjoy a last meal and pack up to head home. We hope that the good vibes, relaxing energy and connection to new friends will continue well after we say our goodbyes!
