Climate and Environment Overview

Climate and Environment Overview for Archidona, Napo, Ecuador

The climate in Archidona, located in the Amazon rainforest region of Ecuador, is typically tropical, characterized by high humidity and warm temperatures year-round.

Here are some key points about the climate:

- Temperature: Average daily temperatures range from 70°F to 90°F (21°C to 32°C). Nights can be cooler but rarely drop below 60°F (15°C).

- Humidity: The region experiences high humidity, often exceeding 80%, which can make the heat feel more intense.

- Rainfall: Ecuador's wet season typically runs from **December to May**, with the heaviest rainfall occurring in March and April. However, due to climate change, the onset and duration of the rainy and dry seasons have become less predictable. This means that the dry season may start later or the wet season may extend, resulting in unexpected weather patterns.

- Dry Season: The dry season usually spans from **June to November**, although brief rain showers can still occur. The effects of climate change may cause irregularities in this pattern as well.

- Sun Exposure: The sun can be strong during the day, making sun protection essential, even during the wet season.
