About your trip

Bucket List Travel is excited to help you take Jordan off your bucket list!

This is a budget-friendly four-day trip to Jordan, designed to introduce you to this amazing country's highlights.: Amman, Madaba, Mount Nebo, Jerash, Dead Sea, Petra, and Wadi Rum.

Trip Highlights

Guided tours include transportation and entry fees to all these sites:

Madaba, The City of Mosaics

Visit Madaba – best known for its spectacular Byzantine and Umayyad mosaics. The city is home to the famous sixth century mosaic map of Jerusalem and the Holy Land, which has two million pieces of colored stone.

Mount Nebo, Pilgrimage Site for Early Christians

Early Christians from Jerusalem made pilgrimage to Mount Nebo, where a small church was built in the fourth century to commemorate Moses’ life. Today the basilica houses a stunning collection of Byzantine mosaics.

Overnight in Amman at Nairoukh Palace (3*)

Full Day Tour of Amman and Jerash

Tour the Jordanian capital of Amman, referred to in the Bible as the Ammonite Kingdom. Amman is a fascinating city of contrasts, a unique blend of old and new, located between the desert and the fertile Jordan Valley.

The ancient city of Jersash boasts an unbroken chain of human occupation dating back more than 6500 years. The city’s golden age came during Roman rule, and is generally acknowledged to be one of the best preserved Roman provincial towns in the world.

Dead Sea

We’ll visit the Dead Sea where the warm, soothing, super salty water – 10 times saltier than sea water - is rich in chloride salts of magnesium, sodium, potassium and bromine.

Dinner and overnight at the Dead Sea at Grand East Hotel (4 stars)

Petra, One of the New 7 Wonders of the World

The Rose City of Petra is a historical and archaeological city, described by UNESCO as “one of the most precious cultural properties of man’s cultural heritage.” It flourished in the first century AD, when its famous Al-Khazneh (Treasury) was constructed. We’ll enter the city through the Siq, a dark narrow gorge flanked on both sides by soaring cliffs. The Siq leads to the massive façade of the Treasury, carved out of the sheer, dusky pink rock-face and dwarfing everything around it.

Dinner and overnight in Petra at Edom Hotel (3*)

Wadi Rum, the Valley of Light

Wadi Rum is a valley cut into the sandstone and granite rock in southern Jordan. It has been inhabited by many human cultures since prehistoric times, with many cultures leaving their mark in the form of rock paintings and temples. Khaz'ali Canyon in Wadi Rum is the site of petroglyphs etched into the cave walls depicting humans and antelopes dating back to the 8th century BCE. The village of Wadi Rum itself consists of several hundred Bedouin inhabitants with their goat-hair tents and concrete houses. Much of the 1962 movie Lawrence of Arabia was shot in Wadi Rum.
