ABOUT HARBIN HOT SPRINGS
Harbin Hot Springs is operated as a non-profit retreat center by Heart Consciousness Church, and is open every day of the year. We are located north of Calistoga, near Middletown, CA.
For centuries, the hot springs here have been regarded by Native Americans as a sacred healing place. We gladly accept the responsibility of preserving the springs as a sanctuary where you can come for rest, reflection and renewal. In order to make your visit most enjoyable, please take a moment to become familiar with the facilities and services we offer.
HARBIN RETREAT EXPERIENCE
Relax in Harbin's simply natural, rustic atmosphere and enjoy sunbathing and soaking in our spring-fed pools. In the tradition of Japanese onsens, Native American, and European hot springs, the soaking pools and pool areas are clothing-optional. This includes the pools, sauna, and surrounding sundecks.
Explore the lovely Harbin garden, creek and hiking trails. Stop by the café for a bite to eat. Schedule a massage, Watsu® or other health treatment. Attend an event or class. Harbin schedules Special Events throughout the week, most available at no charge to guests. Meditations, moon ceremonies, movies and dances are guest favorites. Whatever your retreat style, we welcome you to slow down from the busyness of life and technology to simply "be" on this sacred land and in these healing waters.

ABOUT THE SACRED LAND
The Harbin mainside area is surrounded by more than 1,600 acres of forest, meadows and streams, with fresh air that's been rated the cleanest in the state of California. There is much to explore here at Harbin Hot Springs. If you hike, we do encourage you to stay on the marked trails and roads. It's best not to hike alone, but if doing so, please make sure someone knows your hiking plan.
ABOUT THE HEALING WATERS
The clothing-optional Mainside Pool Area now features a total of eight different pools. All these pools are fed by the different-temperature springs on the property. Spring waters are blended, heated, or cooled to produce and maintain the consistent temperatures that guests have come to know and love – ranging from profoundly hot to chillingly cold, and perfectly in-between.
Please be advised that the hot springs & surrounding areas are electronic-free zones.
Many guests enjoy the natural Mineral Pools for soaking and reflection. The main warm pool (approx. 97F) is ideal for a long quiet soak. For the full experience, follow with a tension-relieving soak in the enclosed hot pool (approx. 112F) and breathtaking dip into the cold plunge (approx. 60F). The heart-shaped pool (approx. 97F) is well-suited for quiet conversation. Or, cool off by swimming laps in the large swimming pool (approx. 80F). Remember to stay hydrated throughout the day, especially when soaking. Clothing-optional Sunbathing is a pleasure around the large pool, or on one of the decks. Spend a few minutes in the dry Sauna tucked into the hillside. A towel to sit on is required in the sauna.
