About your trip

Join us as we head back to one of our all time favorite places on the planet; Marrakech, Morocco for a week of yoga, exploring, shopping, cooking, and adventure. We’ll be staying at the ultra-dreamy Le Riad Yasmine for 6 nights and 7 days, with daily rooftop yoga, Meg Whiteside and Jessica Wood, and delicious local cuisine throughout the stay.

You'll have twice daily yoga classes with Megan Whiteside and Jessica Wood in our beautiful outdoor yoga space, complete with props and lots of hands-on adjustments. While the majority of the practices will be Katonah Yoga®️, we'll also have pranayama, meditations, and yoga nidra classes as well.

Highlights:

Twice Daily Yoga and Meditation Practices
Drop in with twice daily yoga and meditation sessions led by Megan and Jess on our scenic rooftop overlooking the city.

Culinary Delights
Savor the rich flavors of Moroccan cuisine with daily meals prepared in house by the talented team at our accommodation.

Excursions & Experiences
Immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of Marrakech with unforgettable experiences:

  • Wander through the legendary Medina (Old Town), where we are staying, and explore its lively souks filled with handcrafted treasures, spices, and textiles.
  • Visit Le Jardin Majorelle, the enchanting gardens once owned by Yves Saint Laurent, and soak in its striking blue architecture and lush greenery. (Optional excursion, not included in price)
  • Ride camels into the desert for a magical experience.
  • Indulge in a traditional Hammam spa ritual, a centuries-old cleansing and relaxation practice.
  • Explore some of Marrakech’s most famous landmarks, including palaces, mosques, and hidden gems that tell the city’s rich history.
  • Take part in a hands-on cooking class to master traditional Moroccan dishes like tagine and pastilla. We'll get to shop for ingredients in the souks just like the locals do before preparing an amazing lunch together.

Free Time
Whether you choose to shop the bustling souks, lounge by the pool with a book, sip mint tea in a quiet courtyard, or simply soak in the sights and sounds of the city, you’ll have plenty of time to relax and enjoy Marrakech at your own pace.

Who Should Attend
This retreat is open to individuals of all levels, from beginners to experienced practitioners. Whether you're seeking relaxation, adventure, cultural immersion, or self-discovery, this experience is designed to nourish your body, mind, and spirit.

Today your morning starts with yoga at 8, breakfast, and some free time. We will most likely do a pool day outside the Medina that is optional to join and is about 40 euro per person. Today (Wednesday May 27th) is a large holiday in Morocco so some shops in town will be closed and it will be quiet in town, hence why we are going to have a pool day! Your lunch will either be at the pool with us or on your own at one of the many restaurants in town. After lunch you'll have time to unwind before evening yoga and a dinner out as a group. Dinner is not included, but we are making a reservation at a restaurant because some restaurants may be closed due to the holiday.

Lacuna Yoga
The yoga on each Lacuna retreat blends modern techniques and traditional lineages, all while working within a familiar framework of Vinyasa “flow” based classes. While the yoga classes may feel familiar, many of the techniques and teachings are a refreshing change from the status quo. The teachings in Lacuna classes pull from Vinyasa, Hatha, and Katonah Yoga®, a practice steeped in Pranayama, sacred geometry, and Taoist theory.
