An immensely picturesque 1 hour drive along the northern coast of the Dominican Republic will put you in just the right mood to really enjoy this laid-back oasis.
Fricolandia sits atop a rocky coastal area several feet above the water – and that is the beauty of this unique resort. To reach the brilliant blue water, simply walk down a wooden staircase right into the sea. No jumping necessary. Just ease into the crystal-clear water. If you prefer a swimming pool, two of them loom above on a seaside cliff. If you’re looking for a private sandy beach with beach chairs, walk across the wooden walkway over the ocean to Frico Beach.
Fricolandia’s many terraces invite you to stretch out, thatched-roofed gazebos provide plenty of shade and the restaurant for your lunch is wonderfully tropical.
