About your trip

We’re pleased to announce our first bespoke luxury Bassano del Grappa cycling Experience. You’ll be based in a traditional 4 star hotel in this cycling paradise, nestled in the beautiful Veneto region of Italy - which is the gateway to some of the world’s most stunning cycling routes. But with this experience - the cycling is only half of the story, the rest to be savoured in Bassano’s restaurants, trattorias and bars!!

We have designed an exciting itinerary that will allow us to explore the stunning landscapes, charming towns, and vineyards of this most famous region of Italy.

We will be offering a complimentary luxury shuttle from Venice airport to the beautiful town of Bassano del Grappa. We have carefully chosen a wonderful 4 star charming hotel in the centre of this vibrant buzzing town. From here, we will be perfectly located to tackle these legendary climbs in the enchanting Veneto region.  We are spoilt for choice of summits, but these will include Monte Grappa (last 2 mountain climbs from the 2024 Giro), Passo Croce d’Aune – the climb where Tullio Campagnolo was inspired to invent the quick release due to his hands freezing and going numb while climbing in a snowstorm. Other local favourites are Foza, Cima Campo and Passo Cereda.

Obviously being in Italy, there will be a focus on sampling the delicious food and wine of this Veneto region. To immerse ourselves into the terroir, we will be offering  local wine and olive oil tasting. Veneto brings heft and history to the table. Its importance is in part due to the volume of Pinot Grigio it produces, and the massive growth in demand for Prosecco.

This Bassano del Grappa Experience is one for the pure cyclist and with a support vehicle and 2 guides on the road, you will be able to ride at a pace that best suits youClimbing these iconic Giro d’Italia summits is why so many cyclists flock to the southern Dolomites.
Each morning, you will wake up to a clean well maintained bike, serviced by our pro mechanic. He will be riding with us on the roads and on hand for any mechanical emergencies or tweaking required.
Each afternoon we will return to our luxurious hotel to freshen up and wind down, before meeting for aperitifs prior to dinner at a local trattoria.

As a memento of this unforgettable week in Bassano, it’s our pleasure to offer each guest with a commemorative Sportful Girona Velo jersey.

We’d love to have you join us for this magnificent but challenging week of cycling hedonism, plus all the sumptuous delights that the area has to offer.

Allow us take care of everything – so you can just focus on riding, eating sumptuous Italian food and sharing this unique experience with your fellow riders.

Day 2 - June 20 image

Cima di Campo (3-4 hours)

After a sumptuous Italian breakfast, we set off to conquer our first summit - Cima di Campo. From the hotel we head north from Bassano del Grappa following the Brenta river which cuts through this spectacular Dolomite valley. Once we reach the summit of Cima di Campo, we have a long switch back descent through mountains forests, before returning to the hotel for some well deserved R&R!

Day 3 - June 21

Day 3 - June 21 image

Monte Grappa (4-5 hours)

Today is the queen stage and our destination is the most famous summit in the Veneto region and one of the Giro's legendary finishes - Monte Grappa.  This climb is etched in Giro d'Italia folklore and was featured in the 2024 edition - which as i'm sure you recall, was won by Tadej Podgcar in epic style. We won't be taking his KOM but we will be able to appreciate the enchanting beauty of this climb, albeit at a more leisurely pace!

Tonight, a time to celebrate with some beautiful home-cooked Italian food with a glass or two of some local vino!

Day 4 - June 22

Day 4 - June 22 image

Chill Recovery Ride (2-3 hours)

After a leisurely breakfast - we set out for a more gentle recovery ride to shake out those tired post Monte Grappa legs. This a good opportunity to soak up the culture of this region and embrace the terroir. Today is as much about the food & drink as the bike - a good day for a lazy lunch, maybe with a glass or two of wine from the Veneto wineries nearby.

Day 5 - June 23

Day 5 - June 23 image

Passo Cerreda & Wine tasting Afternoon (2-3 hours)

A game of 2 halves today - a morning tackling another beauty of a summit and in the afternoon, a visit to a local winery to savour the incredible wines of this region. It would be amiss not to also indulge in a glass of chilled Prosecco.

Day 6 - June 24

Day 6 - June 24 image

Passo Croce d'Aune (4 hours)

On our final full day climbing - let's leave it all on the road and climb another Giro classic - Passo Croce d'Aune! This 11KM summit stands at 1015m with an average gradient of 6.6% - maxing out at 12%.

This, the perfect grand finale to an epic week's riding in one of the most beautiful cycling regions in the world.

Tonight we will toast the end to this Veneto adventure with a special dinner in a Bassano del Grappa trattoria and crack open a bottle of prosecco to celebrate.
