Leaving at 08am from your location in Mindo, we have a significant stop in a Roses farm. 45 minutes from Quito. This place gives us a plus to understand much better why Ecuador is so colorful. We have the chance to see all the processes about this exportation product to over the world and learn about quality of roses. One hour ride to get to termas Papallacta hot springs but in the way some stops to see Andean condor, bears and some interesting forest of the highlands. Once we get there, we can take a short hike in the forest close by the Papallacta River . A time to spend in the hot springs but you have a chance to take a time in the SPA for a massage (doesn't include) time for lunch.
Overnight in Papallacta
Leaving from Papallacta at 07.30am, the Otavalo Indigenous Market Experience nature, lagoons and culture day tour stars with our tasting of tropical fruits in Guayllabamba town. We will do a stop-over in Cayambe, where we will visit Proyecto Quitsato. Accompanied by a specialized guide, we will learn about the solar sun, the astronomy of the ancestors and The Incas. We will visit the Fábrica de Bizcochos (Local Bread Factory) where we will learn how to prepare it and will taste this typical bread of the province.
Later on the route, we will stop at Lake San Pablo panoramic viewing point, where we will be able to take some pictures. After arriving to Otavalo, we will do some shopping in Plaza de los Ponchos (Poncho’s Square) where we will find various handcrafts and typical fabrics hand-made by the indigenous people.
We will have lunch in any of the typical restaurants recommended by our guide. Then we can choose to visit one of these 3 places: La Casa de los Instrumentos (The House of the Instruments) or the Indigenous Fabrics Gallery where we will learn about the hand-made fabric techniques and how to produce natural colors or, if you are a quality leather-lover, we can visit Cotacachi – The city of Leather.
Returning to Quito
