A Galapagos National Park Naturalist Guide will pick you up from your hotel in Puerto Ayora and take you to the main dock. We will depart by boat to La Loberia where we can do some bird watching and observe blue-footed boobies and sea lions.
We will disembark at Playa de Los Perros where we will walk to observe nesting marine iguanas, blue-footed boobies and Galapagos finches.
Next we will do some snorkeling from the boat with the possibility of swimming with sea turtles, white-tipped reef sharks, and sea lions.
We’ll return to the dock and walk to Las Grietas, volcanic channels where there is crystal clear water perfect for swimming.
Lunch in a local restaurant
After lunch we’ll visit the highlands of Santa Cruz by bus. At El Chato Reserve we can see giant tortoises in their natural habitat, endemic vegetation, and many birds. Here we will also walk inside a 400 meter long lava tunnel.
Our last stop is at Los Gemelo, twin lava craters formed millions of years ago. This is a nesting site for Galapagos finches and we will follow a trail to observe their activities.
