Begin your day with an engaging introduction to one of Rwanda’s most iconic and time-honored traditions: banana beer production. Guided by skilled locals, you’ll:


  • Uncover the history      of banana beer, a beloved staple of Rwandan culture for generations.
  • Witness the process      of transforming bananas into beer through traditional brewing and      fermentation techniques.
  • Get hands-on experience      by peeling, mashing, and filtering bananas yourself, learning ancestral      methods that have been passed down through generations.
  • Explore the cultural      significance of banana beer as a beverage that unites      communities during festivities, ceremonies, and social gatherings.

  

11:00 AM – 01:00 PM: Basket Weaving Workshop

Step into the world of traditional Rwandan craftsmanship with a hands-on basket meet  and interact with local artisans, masters of the intricate art of basket weaving, as they share their skills, techniques, and cultural stories.


  • Learn how to weave patterns      unique to Rwandan basketry, a cultural hallmark that symbolizes unity,      prosperity, and heritage.

01:00 PM – 03:00 PM: Rwandan Cooking Lessons

End your cultural exploration with a sensory journey into Rwandan cuisine through an interactive cooking class. This flavorful session includes:


  • Hands-on participation      in peeling and preparing fresh ingredients like sweet potatoes, plantains,      beans, and spices, offering a deeper connection to the roots of Rwandan      cooking.
  • Cooking with traditional      methods, such as using a stone stove and pottery      materials, to experience the authentic preparation styles cherished in      Rwandan households.
