The “Recovering Lost Technologies” journey is one of the most valuable and knowledge-rich tours, offering a very high level of expertise in subjects that are rarely — if ever — presented by other companies.

As for Christopher Dunn, he will be joining the tour in person during the last week, from March 12th to March 17th. We are happy to have such a valuable figure on our journey.

Arrive to Cairo airport & check-in at Holiday Inn Cairo hotel.

- Meet Saba Tours assistant (Saba’s assistant will hold a sign with the Saba logo, so he or she will welcome you and assist you with the visa and luggage.

- Then escort you to Saba’s van for your transfer to the hotel and assist you with check-in.

- Visit Karnak temple which is one of the largest temple complexes in the world. It was built over 2,000 years and dedicated mainly to the god Amun.

Dendera & Abydos

- Visit Hathor temple 

Hathor Temple is one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt. It is dedicated to the goddess Hathor, the goddess of love, beauty, and music. The temple features stunning astronomical ceilings, colorful reliefs, and the famous zodiac of Dendera.

The Osireion Temple, located behind the Temple of Seti I in Abydos, is an ancient subterranean structure believed to be dedicated to Osiris, the god of the afterlife. Built with massive granite blocks and unique architectural design, it stands out for its mysterious construction style, which differs from typical Egyptian temples. Many scholars consider it a symbolic tomb of Osiris and a place of great spiritual significance in ancient Egypt.

 

- Visit Abydos temple (Seti 1) 

The Temple of Seti I in Abydos is one of the most remarkable monuments of ancient Egypt. Built by Pharaoh Seti I and completed by his son Ramses II, it is dedicated to several deities, including Osiris, the god of the afterlife. The temple is renowned for its exquisite reliefs and vibrant colors, which are among the best-preserved in Egypt. It also houses the famous “Abydos King List,” an invaluable record of Egypt’s royal lineage.

- Visit Vally of the Kings The famouse Valley of the kings, The Valley of the Kings is one of the most famous archaeological sites in Egypt. It served as the royal burial ground for the pharaohs of the New Kingdom

 

- Optional visit the Alabaster Factory (an alabaster workshop is a great place to see how traditional Egyptian stone crafts are made. You’ll watch skilled artisans’ hand-carve beautiful vases, statues, and other items from natural alabaster. It’s also a nice spot to buy unique souvenirs).

 

-  Visit Hatshepsut temple 

Hatshepsut was one of the greatest rulers of ancient Egypt and one of the very few women to rule as a full pharaohduring the 18th Dynasty. Her reign was marked by peace, prosperity, and economic growth, with a strong focus on trade, especially the famous expedition to the Land of Punt.

Edfu temple & Kom Ombo temple

- Drive to Edfu temple and visit Edfu temple by Saba’s bus 

- Edfu Temple is dedicated to Horus, the falcon god. It is one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt, with beautiful carvings and impressive architecture from the Ptolemaic period.

 

- Breakfast at the Nile Cruise 

- Sail to Km Ombo

- Lunch at the Nile Cruise

- Visit Kom-Ombo temple on foot 

This temple is a unique double temple dedicated to two gods: Sobek, the crocodile god, and Horus the Elder.

The Temple of Isis is one of the most beautiful and well-preserved temples in Egypt.

Drive to the Unfinished Obelisk 

The Unfinished Obelisk in Aswan is the largest known ancient obelisk. It was carved directly into the bedrock but was never completed due to cracks in the stone. The site gives a unique insight into ancient Egyptian stone-cutting techniques and tools.
