Join me for a long weekend visit to San Antonio! We'll take a night-time cruise along the famed Riverwalk, then return the next day for a more in-depth look. We'll visit El Mercado (the largest Mexican market outside Mexico) and the La Villita Arts Complex for a spot of shopping therapy. We'll, remember the Alamo and learn about the city's surprising German heritage. In the historic town of Greune, we'll peruse the historic General Store, eat lunch on the river, indulge in an afternoon wine tasting, and kick up our heels at the oldest dance hall in Texas. (Or maybe we’ll just listen to the music!) We'll eat delicious puffy tacos, delectable BBQ, and, of course, enjoy yummy TexMex delights. There might even be a margarita or two involved...

After checking in to our hotel, we head to the River Walk for drinks and dinner. We follow it with a nighttime cruise down the Riverwalk to look at the lights.
We start the day with a visit to the famous Alamo. After paying our respects, we head to the Riverwalk again. This time we visit El Mercado (the largest Mexican market outside Mexico), the charming La Villitas area (full of tiny artisan shops), and have the rest of the day open to take our time wandering around. Dinner is TexMex at Mi Tierra with delicious food and wild decor.
Saturday is spent at the historic town of Greune, where we eat lunch on the river, visit the General Store (and other 'old timey' shops), enjoy an afternoon wine tasting, and have great Texas BBQ for dinner. The evening is full of music (and maybe a bit of dancing?) at Texas's oldest dance hall.
This morning, we will have a lovely, leisurely brunch before the tour ends.
