DAY 2, FRIDAY

MEOW WOLF, KAKAWA, & GEORGIA

This morning we experience the mind-bending Meow Wolf. The House of Eternal Return features over 70 rooms of immersive art to explore. It’s impossible to explain, but here’s a little taste of what’s in store: https://www.youtube.com/watchv=lmNvh0W6Y4Y

From there we move on to the equally mind-blowing chocolate at Kakawa followed by lunch.  (Think 'Eat dessert first!')  After a visit to the world-famous Georgia O’Keefe Museum, we have a Gruet champagne tasting at the gorgeous St. Francis Hotel.

In the evening, we join the ‘Last Friday Art Walk’ through the galleries of the Railyard Arts District.

DAY 3, SATURDAY

Santa Fe Plaza

We begin today exploring the Canyon Road Arts District then take the shuttle to  Santa Fe Plaza where we visit Loreto Chapel which is famous for its unusual spiral staircase. It rises 20 feet while making two full turns, all without the support of a central pole. According to legend, it was built in answer to prayers by the local nuns when a mysterious stranger appeared and offered to build the staircase. He worked alone using only a few simple hand tools and disappeared afterwards without collecting his pay or the Sisters learning his identity. In any case, it’s an amazing feat of woodworking.

After lunch, there's free time to wander the plaza with its wonderful mix of amazing food, charming galleries, and fabulous shopping before dinner at local institution The Shed.

DAY 4, SUNDAY

ARTISAN MARKET AT THE RAILYARD

We spend the morning at the Artisan Market in the Railyard Arts District.  Then the tour ends.

About your organizer

I’m Sheila Stone and I love travel so much that I started a tour company when I was 60. (Have I mentioned that I’m also a late bloomer?) I create and lead small groups of women to interesting places in Europe & Japan. I have also created some Speed Date a City weekends here in the States. My tours give women an opportunity to meet other women travelers and local women too. We support local businesses by staying in small hotels and eating at family restaurants as much as possible so this is travel you can feel good about!
