About your trip

Let's go to Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico! This is where we will board the Jose Cuervo Express for a day of exploring how tequila is made as well as drinking plenty of it! The train ride is the highlight of the weekend and the entire tour will last about 11 hours. We will ride to the town Tequila Mexico which is where the spirit (the drink, not a ghost lol) is also produced.

Here's a post someone else created of the experience, only difference is we will be in the elite class car instead of the one in the video Jose Cuervo Train Ride

We will get to see the factory the tequila is made in and walk in the blue agave fields which is the main ingredient of the tequila.

This trip was curated by Candace Blair who always does every experience before the group to ensure that it lives up to your expectations. She will be going on this trip before the start date to see everything in person and speak with every vendor.

🥂 Sip. Explore. Escape.

This isn’t just a weekend trip — it’s a one-of-a-kind experience designed for adventurous spirits who want to escape the everyday and immerse themselves in the vibrant culture, flavors, and magic of Mexico.

✨ Tequila & Culture–Mexico Weekend Trip

Dates: October 31st - November 3rd, 2025

Duration: 4 Days / 3 Nights (with optional 1-night add-on)

Location: Guadalajara & Tequila, Mexico

Group Size: Only 13 spots available

🍂 Why Travel in Late Oct – Early Nov

October 31 to November 3 is one of the best times of year to visit Guadalajara and Tequila. The weather is ideal — warm during the day, comfortably cool in the evenings, and perfect for rooftop dinners, walking tours, and outdoor tastings without the summer heat or rainy season interruptions.

Even more special, your trip coincides with Mexico’s Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) season. While more prominent in other regions, Guadalajara still celebrates this meaningful tradition with beautiful altars, colorful decorations, music, and cultural energy that adds a magical touch to your experience. You’ll get to enjoy the beauty of this season while still indulging in everything the Tequila & Culture Escape has to offer.

So you understand why I chose this time frame here are more details about when to travel to Guadalajara. This is not to say, don't travel during these times. You can have fun during peak times and get some great deals during off season. It is to say, I wanted to pick a time that wasn't very hot, cheaper and no excessive rain.

I also wanted to give people time to pay. So creating the trip before June would have been tight on the pockets!

Worst Months to Travel to Guadalajara:

1. June – September: Rainy Season ☔

  • Why it's not ideal:
    • Guadalajara’s rainy season peaks from June through September, with July and August being the wettest months.
    • Daily afternoon or evening thunderstorms are common.
    • Humidity increases, and while mornings may be nice, plans can easily be interrupted by rain.
    • Some cultural festivals still happen, but overall it’s less comfortable and photogenic.
  • Impact on trips:
    • Outdoor tours, walks, and rooftop experiences may be affected.
    • Muddy streets, slick cobblestones, and limited photo-friendly moments.

2. Mid-December – Early January: Peak Holiday Travel 🎄💸

  • Why it's not ideal:
    • It’s Mexico’s domestic holiday season, so prices for flights, accommodations, and transport increase sharply.
    • Tourist areas are busier, and availability can be tricky.
    • You’ll compete with locals traveling during Christmas, New Year’s, and school breaks.
  • Impact on trips:
    • Increased costs may hurt your margins if you're offering a budget-friendly group package.
    • Hotel and activity availability can be limited or overpriced.

📍Who This Trip Is For?

  • Adventure lovers who crave something different
  • Travelers who love food, culture, and connection
  • People who want luxury touches without the luxury price tag
  • Anyone who needs a fun, refreshing escape with cool vibes & great people

IS THE TRIP WORTH THE COST? 💴

🛡️ Why This Trip is Worth Every Dollar — and Then Some

We know international travel can feel overwhelming these days — from news headlines to airport horror stories and social media posts about people getting detained or worse. But here’s the truth: travel isn’t dangerous — unprepared travel is.

That’s why when you book with me, you’re not just paying for a trip — you’re investing in peace of mind, proper planning, and an unforgettable experience led by someone who does the work before you ever step off the plane.

I personally research every destination long before you ever see it posted. I keep up with:

  • Travel advisories and embassy updates
  • Entry/exit requirements and visa changes
  • The latest customs and re-entry news with the U.S. government
  • Safe routes, trusted vendors, and vetted local partners on the ground

This trip is designed to give you real adventure, not real stress.

I’ve built relationships, mapped out every move, and hand-selected every hotel, driver, guide, and activity to ensure you feel safe, seen, and supported at every moment. You’ll never have to guess where you’re going, who’s picking you up, or how to get around.

And let’s be honest — you’ve seen posts about people getting robbed, followed, or scammed abroad. That can happen anywhere, even in your own city. But what makes the difference is:

  • Knowing where you’re going
  • Knowing how to move smart
  • Having a trip leader who actually understands how to avoid being a target

I don’t just plan trips. I protect experiences.

So yes — this trip is worth the cost. Because it’s not just a flight and hotel. It’s:

  • The research, risk management, and safety planning
  • The seamless itinerary flow so you never feel lost
  • The balance of fun, culture, and adventure without chaos
  • The comfort of having someone who’s ten steps ahead — so you can just show up and enjoy the moment

If you’re going to invest in travel, invest in doing it the right way, with the right person leading the way.

WHAT AIRPORT TO FLY INTO?

You will fly into Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla International Airport, also known as Guadalajara International Airport. The airport code is GDL.

We can refer you to a travel agent who can help you book your flight if needed.

REFUNDS

Your trip is non-refundable once payments have been made for the Jose Cuervo train ride. When the vendors that help curate this trip (hotels, tours, transportation, meals, etc.) get paid, we can’t get those funds back. Refunds only happen if the host cancels the trip. You have the option to purchase travel insurance should you want to cover yourself incase something happens after the trip is confirmed.

We once required travel insurance but now strongly encourage it unless the host country requires it. Heal. Travel. Repeat will not be liable for any damages or injuries while on any trips in any way. Please purchase insurance if you want the peace of mind of being covered in case you need to cancel or if you are sick or injured on the trip.

We will refer you to the best travel insurance option with a “cancel for any reason” policy just in case you are unable to make the trip. This information will come in a follow-up email once the deposit has been made.

WHY TRAVEL WITH CANDACE BLAIR

We are a little different from your typical travel company. The founder, Candace Blair, is an adventure lover so she creates her trips to include once in a lifetime excursions for those that like to live on the wild side and try things they’ve never done before.

Most travel clubs rightfully and understandably play it safe when creating group trips. Usually doing more cultural tours, volunteer opportunities and basic touristy group fun. We prefer to go off the beaten path and add a little more adrenaline to the trip while still getting the full experience of every country we travel to. This includes hanging out where the locals go.

We are a smaller travel club that gives a more intimate setting and allows for less overhead fees so that we can offer a more competitive rate for the same trips around the world as our larger counterparts.

All activities are optional but travel insurance is strongly encouraged whether you participate or not.
