Monday, September 25 Sturgeon Bay, WI - Door County, WI

Following our continental breakfast, we are off for a full day of touring the Peninsula!

We will travel along the Green Bay shoreline to Egg Harbor and then across Kangaroo Lake to Bjorklunden Stave Chapel. Here we enjoy a guided tour of this

authentic chapel filled with 41 fresco paintings and beautiful wood carvings.

From here we stop at the Farm Market for samples of Wisconsin’s famous cheddars and other yummy treats. Having warmed up our taste buds, we have an included lunch of Swedish pancakes, meatballs and lingonberries at Al Johnson’s Swedish Restaurant.

Be sure to gaze up on the restaurant’s sod roof...it’s kept well trimmed by the goats that roam freely atop.

From here we drive through Door County’s largest state park, Peninsula State Park, to Eagle Bluff Lighthouse. No trip to Door County is complete without a tour of this 1868 historical lighthouse.

Next we enjoy a stop at Founders Square for shopping before returning to our hotel to freshen up before dinner. Tonight we enjoy an authentic Fish Boil Dinner at Scaturo’s Restaurant, complete with Door County cherry pie for dessert!

We have upgraded everyone to have a lake-front/view room to enjoy our evening view of Lake Michigan.

We enjoy our evening on our own, within walking distance to restaurants and the heart of the city.

Wednesday, September 27 Mackinac City, MI - Harris, MI

Today we begin with a 15 minute ferry ride to the beautiful Mackinac Island, an island without cars. We begin with a horse-drawn carriage ride for a tour of the

island, stopping at the Surrey Hills Carriage Museum and Arch Rock, a breathtaking

limestone formation, before making our way to the Historic Grand Hotel.

Built in 1887, the Grand Hotel is a national historic landmark and home to the world’s longest porch. We enjoy the legendary Grand Luncheon Buffet consisting of garden-fresh salads, savory cheeses, slow roasted meats, seafood and more than 20 varieties of fresh-baked pastries.

After lunch we have time to explore the historic hotel or sit on the porch and take in the view of Lake Michigan. By mid-afternoon, we ferry back to the mainland and board our coach and make our way to Harris, Michigan where we enjoy our evening at the Island Resort and Casino.
