This tour partners with our trusted ground operators we have worked with for our TWK Ireland trips in the past. Comfortable private small motorcoach with a driver/guide will accompany us on our journey.

Atholl Palace Hotel, Pitlochry

Originally opened in Victorian times, the Atholl Palace Hotel retains many features of a traditional large country house, with relaxing public areas. The historic nature of the hotel means that every bedroom is unique, with quirky original features, outstanding views and furnishings of the highest standards. The Verandah Restaurant is famed for its stunning views and its quality cuisine, using the very best of local produce. The Stag's Head bar offers a wide range of malt whiskies. The hotel is located in spacious gardens and is within a 15-minute walk of the town of Pitlochry.

Norton House Hotel & Spa, near Edinburgh

Set in a Victorian mansion on 55 acres of grounds, Norton House features a luxury spa, award-winning restaurant and boutique rooms with free internet. Edinburgh is a 20-minute drive, and Edinburgh Airport is 3 miles away. Guests can relax in the sauna, steam room or hydrotherapy pool in the luxurious spa. The health club also has a swimming pool with feature fountains, a fully equipped gym and treatment rooms.


Ballachulish Hotel, Ballachulish


Situated in a breathtaking lochside setting at the foot of dramatic Glencoe, this historic hotel really is a Highland home away from home. All the rooms reflect the region’s Highland heritage, with many offering stunning views of the loch and the breathtaking mountain scenery all around. The hotel serves as a base from which guests can explore the Glencoe and Fort William areas or discover many of the local activities and attractions, from golf to the great outdoors. Enjoy complimentary use of the nearby health club, with swimming pool, Jacuzzi, bio-sauna and exercise room.

Muthu Newton Hotel, Nairn

Muthu Newton Hotel is close to the Nairn golfing links and the Moray Firth offering unrivaled peace and tranquility. Just 10 miles from Inverness airport and less than a mile from Nairn train station. Once frequented by Charlie Chaplin it stands overlooking the Moray Firth and beyond to the Black Isle. The Hotel has 63 rooms with a lush view, the Highland Conference Centre and a wedding venue. The sea-side town of Nairn is one of the prime locations and one of the sunniest spots in Scotland. 



Airfare

We will offer airfare through our air desk partners. Ideally we would like to travel together. Group discounts may be available on international airfare. Some guests may prefer to arrive into London and explore on your own then take the train to meet us in Glasgow. London makes an affordable arrival departure point if you have time to take the train north to Glasgow. Flights also arrive into Glasgow and Edinburgh. Cheap flights are available in the UK between England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Explore Glasgow

Your tour begins at your Glasgow hotel. Set out on a panoramic tour of central Glasgow’s highlights including red sandstone Victorian buildings, delightful parks, Glasgow Cathedral, and the River Clyde, once important for shipbuilding. Option to visit the extensive and varied art collections in Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. Chat with your tour director and fellow travelers over a welcome drink. Your evening is free to dine independently.

Loch Lommond Cruise

Loch Lommond Cruise Inveraray Castle

Embark on a short cruise of Loch Lomond to appreciate the beauty of this famous loch and admire panoramic views. Browse around the town of Inveraray and have lunch on your own before taking a guided tour of Inveraray Castle, featured in “Downton Abbey”. Journey across Rannoch Moor and through Glencoe, often considered one of Scotland’s most spectacular and beautiful places. Continue to Ballachulish on the shore of Loch Leven. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Isle of Skye

Isle of Skye and Loch Ness

Travel on the scenic “Road to the Isles”, stopping for photos at the Glenfinnan Monument. Ferry to the Isle of Skye to visit Armadale Castle, a romantic ruin surrounded by magnificent gardens. Back on the mainland, travel along the shores of Loch Ness. End the day at your hotel in Nairn, a lovely manor house set on spacious grounds near the North Sea. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Culloden Battlefield

Culloden and Sheepdog Trails

A short distance from Nairn is the Culloden Battlefield where the British government forces defeated the army of Prince Charles Edward Stuart, popularly known as Bonnie Prince Charlie. Walk around the battlefield and the visitor center. Continue through majestic Highland scenery to a local farm for a demonstration of trained dogs herding sheep. Travel through the high peaks of the Grampian Mountains to your gracious manor-style hotel near Pitlochry. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Visit Blair Castle, home of the Dukes and Earls of Atholl. Go behind the scenes at Blair Athol Distillery for a tour and sample of the finished product. Spend the afternoon at leisure exploring the hotel gardens and museum or browsing around Pitlochry. Travel through lush countryside to visit Glamis Castle, the legendary setting of “Macbeth” and childhood home of the late Queen Mother. Edinburgh Town and Castle

Explore Edinburgh to compare and contrast the wide streets and elegant mansions of the Georgian 200-year-old “New Town” with the narrow lanes and medieval townhouses along the Royal Mile, the oldest part of the city. Tour the imposing Edinburgh Castle with its splendid views of the city. The rest of the day is free for independent exploring, shopping, and dining.  (Breakfast)
