Your Mackinac Island escape begins with your arrival in Detroit, Michigan. After landing, make your way to our stylish overnight accommodations at The Henry, Autograph Collection—a sophisticated hotel known for its art-inspired design and welcoming ambiance.

Take time to settle in, refresh, and unwind from your travels. In the early evening, we'll gather in the hotel lobby to meet our Tour Director, who will be with us every step of the journey. This is a great opportunity to get to know your fellow travelers and hear a preview of the adventure ahead.

We’ll cap off the day with a Welcome Dinner at a local restaurant, where we’ll share a delicious meal, raise a glass to new friendships, and toast to the unforgettable experiences waiting for us in the days to come.

After breakfast at The Henry, we’ll board our motorcoach and set off on a scenic drive through Michigan’s beautiful landscapes, making a stop along the way to enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. 

By early afternoon, we’ll arrive in Mackinaw City and trade the open road for open water as we board the ferry to Mackinac Island—a car-free haven known for its Victorian charm and slower pace of life.

Once we arrive, we’ll be welcomed with a horse-drawn carriage ride through the island’s picturesque streets, offering a perfect introduction to this timeless destination. Our ride ends at the Island House Hotel, a historic and elegant property that will be our home for the next few nights.

After check-in, the evening is yours to unwind, explore the nearby shops and waterfront, or simply relax on the hotel’s porch and take in the view.

 Today, we’ll dive deeper into the rich history and charm of Mackinac Island with a horse-drawn carriage tour at your own pace. Your ticket includes access to several island highlights:

In the early afternoon, we’ll gather for a true highlight of the trip: the Grand Luncheon Buffet at the iconic Grand Hotel. Step into a world of timeless luxury as you enjoy an unforgettable meal in one of the most celebrated dining rooms in America.

After lunch, we’ll stroll through the hotel’s Secret Garden, a tucked-away floral oasis bursting with color and charm. Then, take time to relax and unwind on the Grand Hotel’s famous porch, the longest in the world, where rocking chairs and sweeping lake views await.

In the evening, for those seeking a little adventure, an optional private sunset kayak tour will offer a peaceful and scenic way to end the day—gliding along the water as the sun sets over the Straits of Mackinac.

This morning, we’ll say goodbye to the charm and tranquility of Mackinac Island as we board the ferry back to the mainland, taking one last look at the scenic shoreline and horse-drawn carriages.

Once back on land, we’ll travel by motorcoach to Dearborn, returning to The Henry, Autograph Collection for our final night together.

In the evening, we’ll come together for a Farewell Dinner at a local restaurant, sharing stories, laughter, and favorite memories from our unforgettable Mackinac adventure. It’s the perfect way to celebrate new friendships and a truly special journey.

 After a final breakfast at the hotel, it’s time to say goodbye to new friends and the unforgettable memories we've made together. Our tour officially concludes this morning, and guests will depart at their leisure to begin the journey home.
