Self-Guided Hiking Adventures

Hiking & Exploration in the Southwest

Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, Coral Pink Sand Dunes, and Kanarra Falls offer some of the most breathtaking and diverse hiking experiences in the American Southwest. From wading through Zion’s iconic Narrows, to climbing waterfalls and ladders in Kanarra Creek Canyon, to soaking in panoramic views along Bryce’s rim trails, or wandering the vibrant landscapes of Coral Pink Sand Dunes—there’s an unforgettable experience for every type of adventurer.

As part of your all-inclusive retreat, all entrance fees to these national and state parks are fully covered. We also provide private transportation to and from each destination, along with customized recommendations, maps, and preparation tips to help you make the most of every trail.

We do want to clarify an important point: due to National Park Service and State Park regulations, we are not authorized to operate as official hiking guides within protected areas such as Zion, Bryce Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, Coral Pink Sand Dunes, or Kanarra Falls. However, a professionally guided tour of Lower Antelope Canyon is included as part of your retreat experience.

All other hikes are self-guided, and we equip you with everything you need to feel confident—detailed trail descriptions, safety guidelines, and personalized route suggestions tailored to your group’s interests and activity level. This self-paced approach allows for both freedom and flexibility, while we focus on the holistic retreat elements that make this journey truly special: daily yoga, nourishing chef-prepared meals, intentional group connection, and restorative downtime.

By blending mindful wellness with outdoor adventure, this retreat offers a grounded and inspiring way to explore the Southwest’s most iconic landscapes—inside and out.

National Park Access

Our retreat home is perfectly positioned—just minutes from Zion and within reach of Bryce Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, Antelope Canyon, Coral Pink Sand Dines and Kanarra Falls. Rest & Recharge

This is your time to slow down. Whether you're enjoying a quiet moment in the hot tub, journaling with a view, or sneaking in an afternoon nap, we've built in plenty of unstructured time so you can unwind your way. Every activity is optional—follow your energy, not the schedule.

7:30 AM: Morning yoga to open the body and awaken the senses

8:30 AM: Breakfast at the retreat home

10:00 AM: Depart for Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park (approx. 1 hr 15 min drive)

11:15 AM: Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park | Sandboarding & Scenic Exploration

Prepare to be transported to another world with a day trip to Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park, where vibrant, rose-hued dunes stretch across a dramatic desert landscape. This lesser-known gem in Southern Utah offers a unique contrast to the rugged canyons and red rock cliffs of Zion and Bryce—providing both a visual feast and a playground for adventurous spirits.

Formed over thousands of years by wind-blown Navajo sandstone, the dunes are constantly shifting and reshaping, creating ever-changing waves of soft, coral-colored sand. These surreal landscapes are ideal for exploration, photography, and fun-filled activities.

What to Expect:

  • A scenic 1 hour and 15-minute drive through beautiful Southern Utah landscapes

  • Endless rolling dunes framed by desert pines and red rock cliffs

  • Plenty of open space for scenic walking, mindful wandering, and photography

  • Opportunities to try sandboarding or sandsledding, a thrilling and accessible activity for all levels (equipment provided)

  • A peaceful escape from crowds—this park remains quiet, unspoiled, and deeply serene

  • Time for group connection, playful exploration, or quiet reflection atop the dunes

Activity Details:

  • Sandboards and sleds will be provided for those who want to try gliding down the dunes

  • Moderate physical effort required for climbing dunes; participants can explore at their own pace

  • Closed-toed shoes or hiking sandals are recommended; barefoot walking is optional and enjoyable

  • Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat are highly encouraged—there’s little natural shade

Why We Love It:
Coral Pink Sand Dunes offers something truly unique: a space where childlike play and desert stillness exist side by side. Whether you’re racing down dunes on a board, watching the wind shape the sand in real time, or sitting quietly at the crest of a ridge taking it all in, this experience invites a different kind of presence—one that’s rooted in joy, awe, and freedom. All entrance fees and equipment are included with your retreat. Just bring your sense of adventure.

12:30 PM: Lunch or snack break in Kanab

1:30 PM: Drive to Kanarra Falls Trailhead (approx. 45 min drive)

2:15 PM: Hike Kanarra Falls | Slot Canyon Adventure with Waterfalls & Ladders

(Permits Required – Included with Your Retreat)

Nestled just outside of Zion National Park, Kanarra Falls offers one of Southern Utah’s most memorable and photogenic hiking experiences. This moderately challenging trail winds through a stunning slot canyon, where adventure and serenity come together in a truly unique way.

The hike begins on a dirt path that quickly leads into Kanarra Creek, where you’ll spend a good portion of the journey walking through cool, flowing water. As the canyon narrows, you’re surrounded by towering red rock walls that twist and rise dramatically overhead—creating a surreal, almost cathedral-like atmosphere.

What sets Kanarra Falls apart are its natural waterfalls and manmade wooden ladders, which allow hikers to continue deeper into the canyon. Climbing these ladders and navigating the shallow creek offers just enough challenge to feel adventurous, while still being accessible to most hikers with a moderate fitness level.

Highlights:

  • A scenic 3.5 to 4-mile round-trip hike (depending on how far you go)

  • Towering slot canyon walls and beautifully carved sandstone passageways

  • Wading through ankle- to knee-deep water for much of the route

  • Climbing wooden ladders beside waterfalls for a fun, hands-on challenge

  • Incredible photo opportunities and peaceful moments surrounded by nature

Good to Know:

  • Permits are required and included as part of your all-inclusive retreat experience

  • Proper footwear is essential—water shoes or hiking sandals with good traction are highly recommended

  • This hike is weather dependent; heavy rain can create flash flood risk, so conditions are closely monitored

Kanarra Falls is the perfect blend of beauty and adventure—an unforgettable highlight that invites you to slow down, engage your senses, and fully experience the wonder of the Southwest's canyon landscapes.

5:30 PM: Return to the retreat home and unwind

6:30 PM: Evening yoga to stretch and reflect

7:30 PM: Final celebratory dinner and group closing circle

Day 5: April 6
