This 10-day itinerary explores the highlights of Tajikistan, including a city tour of Dushanbe and a trek through the Fann mountains. Highlights of the trek include visiting Bibijanat lake, Alauddin lake, Mutnoe lake, Chimtarga pass, and Big Alo lake. The trip ends with a farewell dinner before departure from Dushanbe.

Day 1

Dushanbe

Arriving in Dushanbe — which means “Monday” in Tajik — you’ll learn about Tajikistan past and present. You will start city tour with your guide which include the magnificent gold Somoni Monument, the world’s second-tallest flag pole, Rudaki Park, parliament house,and the Navruz Hall.

Accommodation: 4* Atlas Hotel.

Artuch

After the breakfast you will be transferred to the Artuch village and the rest of the time you can walk around the village and explore Tajik country life. Accommodation: Artuch guesthouse

Day 3

Kulikalon

The donkeys arrive in the morning to carry the luggage. After having a breakfast and short instruction by the mountain guide, we start 4 hours trekking. Overnight at shore of Bibijanat lake in the 2 persons tent. 2800. Accommodation: tent

Alauddin lake

In the morning, we start ascend to Alaudin pass (3860 m, 10 km, ~6 hrs, +960 m). The beautiful panorama of the surrounding peaks and lakes will be seen from the top of pass. Descend to a campsite by the first Alaudin lake. Altitude: 2770m. Accommodation: tent

Mutnoe lake

After breakfast in the Alaudin lake, we slowly start ascend to the Mutnoe lake (3520m) which takes about 4 hours. On the way, we enjoy the view to the peaks and view from the top. Porter with donkeys unload our luggage in Mutnoe Lake. (4hrs, 5km, +750m)

Chimtarga

The first challenging day starts early in the morning. Further, donkeys can not go with us, so we hire porters. We start moving toward Chitarga pass (4750m). The path goes along glacier. We set our camp before the top of the pass, on the altitude 4560 m, 3km, 6 hours, +980m)

Day 7

Big Alo

Early in the morning we start trekking to the Chimtarga Pass (4750 m) and then continue to the right Zindon gorge. We set our campsite at 3100m at the shore of the Big Alo lake perhaps the most beautiful lake in Fann mountains. (14 km, 6-7 hours, +250m, - 960m)

Archmaydan

Early in the morning we continue descend in the Zindon gorge along the Amshut river passing by small Alo lake (2340m). Overnight in Archmaydan river valley. Altitude: 1780m. Accommodation: tent

Day 9

Day 9 image

Dushanbe

In the morning, you will meet your driver and will be transferred to Dushanbe. You will be placed to Atlas Hotel in Dushanbe and after a break, you will have a farewell dinner with your guide at restaurant in Dushanbe.

Departure

Your airport transfer will be arranged by hotel. Have a safe flight!
