Your experience begins with a scenic drive along the Southern Highway, passing through traditional Garifuna, Mestizo, and Maya villages—an immersive look at Belize’s modern multicultural identity. As the road winds deeper into the foothills, you’ll sense the shift into ancient territory, where the Maya once built thriving centers of trade, ceremony, and royal power.

At Lubaantun, renowned for its distinct slatestone architecture and mortarless construction, you’ll walk among plazas, ball courts, and ceremonial structures surrounded by tropical forest. These are merely recommendations.  Wear something that will make you safe walking nature trails.  Slides and flips flops are definitely not allowed or recommended for us on any of our tours.
