About your trip

Join Ilaria, founder of Her Wild Adventures, and Tatra Escapes for an unforgettable 7-night / 8-day hiking holiday in Slovakia—a centre-based adventure staying in a cosy, privately owned bed & breakfast near the medieval heart of Poprad.

Across the week, you’ll explore three spectacular national parks: the dramatic High Tatras, the gentler rolling peaks of the Low Tatras, and the fairytale gorges and ladders of Slovak Paradise. Expect glacial lakes, waterfalls, panoramic ridgelines, atmospheric mountain huts, forest canyons, and plenty of opportunities to connect with nature’s calm.

Designed as more than just a hiking trip, this journey blends meaningful time in the mountains with Ilaria’s supportive, courage-centred approach to adventure. Rooted in the belief that reconnecting with nature helps you reconnect with yourself, every day has been designed to offer space to feel both challenged and supported.

With thoughtfully planned routes ranging from easy-moderate to more challenging options, you’ll experience the very best of Slovakia’s mountain landscapes while unwinding each evening with good food, local culture, and optional access to nearby thermal baths and wellness areas. A perfect invitation to reset, breathe, and rediscover your footing—both on the trail and within yourself.

You can pay the trip in 3 monthly instalments as well if you wish. There is 25% deposit to secure your space.

The Deepest Mountain Lake in Tatras Hike

After a hearty breakfast, we set off on an unforgettable hike deep into the breathtaking Tatra Mountains National Park. Today’s route takes us to the highest and deepest glacial lake in the region—a hidden gem surrounded by rugged peaks and alpine beauty. This moderately challenging trek covers approximately 16 km, with a 750-meter ascent, and takes around 6–7 hours. We'll stop at a mountain hut for our lunch. After returning to Poprad, we gather again in the evening for a relaxed group dinner.

Day 3

Day 3 image

Mountain Waterfalls & Alpine Valley Hike

After breakfast, we set out for one of the most beautiful valleys in the High Tatras — a full day of forest paths, cascading streams, wooden bridges, and classic alpine scenery. Our route gently climbs alongside a series of waterfalls before reaching a cluster of traditional mountain huts, where you can pause for a drink or snack and soak up the atmosphere. From here, we continue higher into the valley, taking in sweeping views before looping back down via a scenic viewpoint plateau. The hike is approximately 11–12 km, takes around 5–6 hours, and includes roughly 550–650 m of ascent. In the evening, we enjoy another relaxed group dinner together.

Day 4

Day 4 image

Leisure Day

Enjoy a relaxed morning and breakfast before heading out for a completely free day to explore at your own pace. Options include visiting the local thermal baths, taking cable cars into the mountains, trying the unique beer spa, or exploring castles and nearby historic towns. There is no group dinner arranged today, so you’re free to dine wherever you like or organise something with fellow travellers.

Day 5

Day 5 image

Slovak Paradise National Park

After breakfast, we set out for a full day in Slovak Paradise National Park, following the famous river gorge before climbing through a dramatic side canyon with ladders and wooden platforms. This route combines riverside walkways, forest paths, rocky sections, and a rewarding ascent to the plateau above. The hike is approximately 11–12 km, takes around 5–6 hours, and includes roughly 400–500 m of ascent. In the evening, we come together again for a group dinner.

Day 6

Day 6 image

Alpine Lake & Mountain Hut Lunch (High Tatras)

After breakfast, we make our way into the High Tatras for a stunning hike to one of the region’s most beautiful green alpine lakes, surrounded by dramatic peaks and classic mountain scenery. We’ll enjoy a well-earned lunch at a traditional mountain hut before making our way back down the valley. The hike is approximately 15 km, takes around 6-7 hours, and includes roughly 650 m of ascent. In the evening, we gather again for a relaxed group dinner.

Day 7

Day 7 image

Low Tatras National Park Hike

After breakfast, we transfer for about an hour into the Low Tatras for the most challenging — and one of the most rewarding — hikes of the week. Starting from a mountain pass and following a beautiful ridgeline with layered views across the Low Tatras and the distant High Tatras, this route offers sweeping panoramas for most of the day. We finish at a valley trailhead on the opposite side after a full, satisfying day in the mountains. The hike is approximately 16 km, takes around 7–8 hours, and includes roughly 900+ m of ascent. In the evening, we celebrate the week with a warm and relaxed goodbye dinner.

About your organizer

TE
Tatra Escapes
Most of our trips are concentrated around Tatra Mountains and surrounding national parks (Slovakia has 9 of them!). Tatra Mountains are known as the smallest alpine mountains in Europe which are situated in the north of the country, also shared with Poland. Slovakia is a perfect holiday destination for adventure seekers, outdoor enthusiasts, mountain and nature lovers. Slovakian national parks are a reflection of true paradise for hikers and walkers, and make an ideal destination for wellness retreats, too!
