This is a twist on your quintessential African adventure complete with an eco-tour of Botswana’s Chobe Game Lodge led by the Chobe Angels (Africa’s first all-women safari guide team) and a safari in Zambia’s Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park. You can also expect a sighting of one of the seven world wonders, Victoria Falls, locally called Mosi-oa-Tunya ‘Smoke that Thunders’ from both the Zambia and Zimbabwe perspectives. And not to worry, there’s no backpacking involved, this trip will give luxury from start to finish, that is…luxury-at-prices-we-can-afford. You’re welcome 😉.
With this trip, we are making off-the-beaten-path accessible. We will visit three countries within the Kaza conservation region of Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Botswana. In a place near Kazungula, four countries meet where the Zambezi and Chobe Rivers converge to form one border connected by the Kazungula Bridge Project. On our trip, we will visit three of these four countries.
Our base will be in Livingstone, Zambia, what many consider to be the most luxurious of the cities within the Kaza region. We will organize day trips to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe (15-minute drive) and Kasane, Botswana (90-minute drive) over our week in Zambia.
Stay in style at this stunning hotel in Victoria Falls bordered by Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park for close encounters with Zambia’s amazing wildlife and incredible views of Victoria Falls.
What to expect of Zambia in late-August:
We have thoughtfully curated a purpose-filled itinerary for women who travel for more than just the gram. If you’re looking for a little adventure and wide-eyed wonder to delight your soul after a few years of being mostly home, this trip is for you. If you enjoy having deep conversations with women who encourage the quieter parts of your personality to pop, this trip’s for you. If you want to spend a week celebrating the women of Botswana, Zambia, and Zimbabwe who are working together to build a more equitable future for the next generation, this trip is most certainly for you. We cater to women of all ages, at varying life stages and have designed the itinerary with this in mind.

Once you arrive at the Avani Hotel (15-minute drive), you are welcomed in Zambian fashion with hospitality and flair and shown to your room located within the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park - just steps from one of the seven world wonders: Victoria Falls.
Later that evening, you will be invited to join the group and some local women of impact in the Boma to experience a traditional Zambian feast complete with game meats, live music, traditional dance, and storytelling. Don’t be startled if you see a zebra or giraffe on your way to dinner. Remember, you are in the National Park, so some wildlife can be seen roaming on the property (non-predatory ones, of course).
Our second day begins shortly before noon. We will head across the Kazungula bridge for the first time to visit Victoria Falls from the Zimbabwe side (15-minute drive), which is located in a protected rainforest.
After experiencing the world wonder, we will head into town for local shopping and a one-of-kind women-run gourmet culinary experience.
Day three starts off with a mid-morning safari in Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park. Expect to see hippos, rhinos, impala, buffalos, and elephants amongst other wildlife. Next, we welcome girls from our Girls MAP Foundation program for an elegant picnic overlooking Victoria Falls. We’ll connect with the girls through song, dance, fun games, and conversation - all in a uniquely picturesque setting.
Once we say farewell to our little friends, we will have some much needed rest before heading over to our sister property at the Royal Livingstone (via golf cart) for a sunset dinner overlooking the Falls.
On this day, we’ll rise a little earlier than usual as we are heading across the Kazungula bridge once more - this time for a day in Botswana (90-minute drive).
We’ll spend the day with the Chobe Angels (Africa’s first all-women guide team), touring the Chobe Game Lodge and learning about their sustainable tourism model and feminist approach to conservation. It will be a full day, but we plan to have you back in Livingstone before sunset.
On our last full day in Livingstone, we will invite you to join us for an optional late morning walk on the property to view Victoria Falls from the Zambia side (if you haven’t ventured to that part of the property already).
You will then have a free afternoon to do as you wish. Enjoy the spa at Royal Livingstone, get some rest and relaxation by the pool, go shopping or select from more adventurous activities you can add-on.
In the evening, we will gather one last time for an intimate sunset dinner cruise on the Zambezi River with cocktails, music, and breathtaking views of nature and wildlife.
It’s time to say goodbye to all your new connections with a poolside breakfast before you are chauffeured to the airport where your VIP concierge will escort you to your gate for boarding.
If you opt to have us book your regional flights, meet us in Johannesburg (JNB) where you'll get a transfer to your boutique hotel for an overnight stay.
After breakfast the next morning, you will return to the airport for a regional flight (1 hour 45 mins) from Johannesburg to Livingstone where you will meet the rest of the group and begin the itinerary outlined here.
On the departure day (day six), you will connect directly from your Livingstone flight to your international flight at JNB airport.
