Welcome to the Pacoche Wildlife Refuge, a hidden gem on Ecuador’s Pacific coast only 30 minutes from Manta. Home to a surprising array of wildlife and natural beauty.
On this half-day shore excursion from Manta, we invite you to discover the wonders of this ecological paradise. As we traverse the trails and sandy beaches of the refuge, keep your eyes peeled for the many species of birds, reptiles, and mammals that call this place home. You may spot majestic frigatebirds soaring high above, blue-footed boobies nesting on the side of the cliffs, or tiny hummingbirds fluttering from flower to flower.
We’ll cruise through a dry river creek, where you might see howler monkeys or the more elusive capuchin monkey playing in the treetops. The wildlife viewing opportunities are endless here. For natural scenery, you’ll be hard-pressed to beat the views of the Pacific Ocean’s rolling hills, beaches, and blue waters.
By the end of the tour, you’ll understand why Pacoche deserves to be recognized as one of the most biologically important areas of coastal Ecuador. Join us for an unforgettable adventure discovering nature and wildlife in this hidden coastal gem.
