Embark on a wildlife safari in Mole National Park after flying from Accra to Tamale. Experience a night in the wilderness at Mole Motel before heading to Kumasi. Explore the Ashanti Kingdom, Ntonso Adrinka Village, and Adanwomase Kente Weaving Village, where you'll learn the art of weaving and visit a Cocoa farm. Participate in a traditional naming ceremony with chiefs and elders.  After breakfast, we’ll set off on an engaging tour of Ghana’s vibrant capital. Our journey includes:

  • Dr. Du Bois Personal Library: Delve into the rich intellectual legacy of Dr. Du Bois with a visit to his meticulously curated personal library, showcasing a wealth of historical and cultural texts.
  • Marcus Garvey Guesthouse: Visit the residence of the prominent Jamaican leader and orator, Marcus Garvey, and learn about his impact on Pan-Africanism and global civil rights.
  • Ghana National Museum: Discover Ghana’s history and cultural heritage through its extensive collection of artifacts, traditional crafts, and exhibits detailing the nation’s past.

Depart to Tamale- Mole

After an early breakfast, we’ll head to the airport for a short flight to Tamale, setting the stage for an exhilarating adventure. Upon arrival, we’ll make our way to Mole National Park, where our accommodation awaits at the Mole Motel—the sole hotel within the park's boundaries. After settling in, get ready for an exciting evening safari drive. As the sun sets, we’ll venture into the park to spot majestic elephants, graceful antelopes, playful monkeys, and a variety of wildlife, making for a thrilling introduction to the park’s natural wonders.

Mole National Park- Safari

Start your day with an exhilarating early morning walking safari, getting up close with the park's wildlife and immersing yourself in the natural beauty of Mole National Park. Following this adventurous walk, we'll enjoy a hearty breakfast before checking out of the hotel to embark on our journey to Kumasi.


As we travel by van or bus to Kumasi, we’ll make several captivating stops along the way. Each stop offers a unique opportunity to experience the diverse landscapes of Ghana, from lush scenery to vibrant local life.

Upon arriving in Kumasi, we’ll check into Frederick’s Lodge, where you’ll unwind in comfort and prepare for the next exciting chapter of our journey.

Kumasi- Ashanti Kingdom

After savoring a delightful traditional breakfast, we’ll embark on an unforgettable journey through the Ashanti Kingdom. Our day will be filled with immersive experiences, starting with:

  • Village of the Ashanti Kingdom: Step into the heart of Ashanti heritage as we explore this vibrant village, where you’ll witness traditional customs and daily life that have been preserved for generations.
  • Ntoso Adinkra Village: Discover the fascinating world of Adinkra symbols at this cultural village, where you'll learn about the meanings and significance behind these unique, intricate designs.
  • Adanwomase Kente Weaving Village: Participate in a hands-on kente weaving workshop in this renowned village, where you’ll see how the vibrant, patterned cloth is created and gain insight into its cultural importance.
  • Cocoa Farm Tour: Visit a local cocoa farm to see firsthand how Ghana’s famous cocoa is cultivated, from bean to bar, and gain a deeper appreciation for this vital part of the country’s economy.
  • Traditional Naming Ceremony: Experience the richness of Ashanti culture through a traditional naming ceremony, a profound and celebratory ritual that offers a deeper connection to local customs and values.

Kumasi Tour- Depart for Elmina

After breakfast, we’ll exchange our currency for Ghanaian cedis and set off for Kejetia Market, the largest open-air market in West Africa. Here, you’ll dive into a vibrant maze of stalls brimming with colorful textiles, handcrafted souvenirs, and unique artisan goods, perfect for haggling and discovering local treasures.


Following a bustling day at the market, we’ll visit the Manhyia Palace Museum, the official residence of the Ashanti King. This museum offers a fascinating glimpse into the royal history and traditions of the Ashanti people, showcasing regal artifacts and the grandeur of the Ashanti monarchy.


Next, we’ll embark on a scenic drive by bus or van to Elmina. Upon arrival, we’ll check into the Golden Hill Parker Hotel, where you can unwind and relax after a day full of exploration and cultural immersion. Enjoy a restful night in comfort as we prepare for the next exciting chapter of our journey.

Elmina- Kakum National Park, Slave Castles and more

Get ready for an adventurous and moving day ahead! We’ll kick off the morning with a thrilling visit to Kakum National Park, where you’ll traverse the world-famous canopy walk high above the rainforest, offering breathtaking views and an exhilarating experience among the treetops.


Next, we’ll journey to the Cape Coast Slave Castle, where you'll engage in a poignant and educational tour. Experience the profound history of the Door of No Return, a powerful symbol of the transatlantic slave trade and its lasting impact.


To conclude our day, we’ll dive into a local cooking class, where you'll learn to prepare traditional Ghanaian dishes. After creating your culinary masterpieces, we’ll gather to savor the delicious results of our efforts, enjoying a memorable meal together.

Depart Elmina - Return to Accra

After breakfast, we’ll set off by bus or van to return to Accra. Those staying in Accra will check into their hotel, while travelers heading back to the USA will be transported to Accra Airport for their departure.
