About your trip

Latitude Zero Resort | Telo Islands, Indonesia

April 19 - April 26 2026

Join Kassia Meador and Laure Mayer for a luxury 7-day women’s surf retreat at Latitude Zero, a private tropical island resort located almost directly on the equator in the pristine Telo Islands of Western Indonesia. Surrounded by white-sand beaches and crystal-clear turquoise waters, this remote paradise offers access to nearly 50 world-class surf breaks within an hour by speedboat, delivering consistent, high-quality waves for a range of conditions and abilities. As the only resort with daily access to the entire Telo Island chain via a fleet of international-standard speedboats, Latitude Zero Resort provides an unmatched blend of surf variety, comfort, and connection — the perfect setting for meaningful surf progression, rest, and sisterhood in one of the most beautiful corners of the planet.

Who This Trip Is For

This retreat is created for intermediate + lady sliders who love longboarding and are ready to deepen their connection to waves and the language of the ocean. Longboards are our primary focus, with funboards and mid-lengths also welcome. You don’t need to be “perfect” — just comfortable handling yourself in the lineup, able to see and successfully catch your own waves, ride down the line, and kick out. If you can turtle roll and enjoy surfing reef breaks, you’ll feel right at home here. Our intention is to support your progression in a nurturing, inspiring setting — helping you build confidence in nose riding, refine your turns, and find more flow and ease between maneuvers. All of this unfolds during an unforgettable girls’ surf adventure, sharing waves, laughter, and growth in pristine, uncrowded conditions.

About your Hosts

Kassia Meador - began surfing at age 14. She was a sponsored professional long-boarder ranked 2nd on the WSL women's longboard world tour in 2011. Over the past 26 years she has been known world wide for her graceful surf style and was crowned the "queen of noseriding" by the New York Times.  In 2015 she launched KASSIA+SURF, a wetsuit brand by women for women. Her designs are rooted in authenticity gained through her direct experience pushing the limits of women's surf culture, lifestyle, and design. Over the past 7 years Kassia has been dedicated to paying it forward by creating a series of Learn To Surf Videos with The Inertia's Inspire courses and hosting surf retreats worldwide. Kassia's skill set range far beyond riding ocean waves and creating wetsuits. Through her own healing and transformation Kassia begun her journey riding sound and energy waves. She has been working with sound and vibrational therapy since 2011 and energy medicine since 2019. She is a trained holographic sound practitioner,  a licensed cranio sacral and polarity therapy practitioner.

Laure Mayer -  is sponsored free-surfer, surf documentary producer, and entrepreneur based in Byron Bay, Australia. Raised on the Basque coast, her early years immersed in coastal life and flamenco dance shaped a fluid, expressive approach to surfing that continues to define her style in the water. Since relocating to Australia in 2011, Laure has become an established figure in the women’s longboard and free-surfing community and founded Lore of the Sea, a women-led surfwear brand. Alongside her surfing and design work, Laure is the co-director and producer of People of Surfing, a documentary series exploring surf culture through stories and local communities around the world. Laure has extensive experience co-hosting and leading women’s surf retreats. She is known for creating a fun, inclusive environment that supports progression, confidence in the water, and strong group connection. As a coach and host, Laure focuses on flow, positioning, wave selection, and building trust in the ocean—helping women surf more intuitively while staying true to their own style.

Telo Islands Waves & Surfing Season

Like the summer months, in April weather is mostly stunning, and we start to see more of those 4-6ft medium sized swells march up the Indian Ocean. As with almost the entire world, these are great months for surfers and Telo Islands is no different.

Most suitable for:

  • Surfers who love empty or quiet lineups

  • Surfers on longboards, mid lengths and fun boards

  • Those that value comfortable boating in glassy ocean conditions

Board recommendation and Resort Surfboards use :

ALL BOARDS WELCOME! We suggest bringing a board or two that you love and are comfortable on.  Longboard, and a versatile mid-length, fish, fun board or shortboard, whatever you prefer.

There is also an option of using boards from the large fleet of boards available at the Resort

  • Arrive into Padang (PDG) latest on the Saturday night April 18th

  • Leave accomodation earliest 5am Sunday for flight from PDG to Telo

Departure Sunday April 26 - We advise all guests to book flights out of PDG after 17:00h or following day April 27th is prefered!

International Flights:

- Most international flights will land in Jakarta, Indonesia (the Indonesian capital). From there, you’ll need a separate domestic flight to Padang.

- We highly recommend booking your Jakarta to Padang flights with Garuda Airlines for reliability and ease with surfboards. Other smaller airlines are often problematic.

- It's best to book your domestic flight to Padang first, then your international flight to Jakarta, leaving at least 3.5 hours between the arrival and departure times to allow for luggage collection and recheck.

Airlines We Recommend:

- Singapore Airlines, Qatar Airways, South China Airlines and Korean Air all have great flight schedules and are surfboard-friendly.

- For layovers, we suggest 2.5 - 3 hours minimum  between connecting flights in major airports to ensure you have enough time for your luggage to transfer.
