Activity Level: Moderate to Hard Hiking

This trip is designed for women who enjoy staying active and exploring the outdoors at a moderate to adventurous pace. You can expect daily hikes ranging from 2 to 6 miles, some with elevation gain or uneven terrain, along with optional high-energy activities like ATV riding and river hikes. While no extreme athletic experience is required, a basic level of fitness and a sense of adventure will help you get the most out of the experience. We build in plenty of rest time, scenic breaks, and flexibility so you can challenge yourself while still feeling supported and energized throughout the journey.

Weather

In May, the weather across Moab, Zion, Bryce Canyon, and Capitol Reef is generally ideal for outdoor adventures—mild to warm during the day and cooler at night. Moab and Zion typically see daytime highs in the 70s to 80s°F (21–30°C), perfect for hiking and exploring, while evenings dip into the 50s°F (10–15°C). Bryce Canyon, being higher in elevation, is cooler with daytime highs in the 60s°F (15–20°C) and chilly nights that can drop into the 30s–40s°F (1–7°C). Capitol Reef offers a pleasant mix, with temperatures ranging from the 60s to low 80s°F (16–27°C). May is also a relatively dry month, though quick afternoon showers are possible—so layers and sun protection are key.

All the excursions listed in the itinerary are included. Bring cash/credit cards for purchasing souvenirs, additional snacks/meals, alcoholic drinks, extra activities, and other items.

Arches and Adrenaline

We kick off our first full day with a journey through the sculpted sandstone wonderland of Arches National Park. We'll hike to iconic formations like Delicate Arch and the Windows, standing beneath arches carved over millions of years. The desert light here shifts dramatically, bathing the red rock in shades of gold and crimson as the morning unfolds. In the afternoon, it’s time to crank up the adrenaline with a high-energy ATV tour through Moab’s rugged backcountry. We'll navigate slickrock trails, conquer steep climbs, and laugh our way through muddy turns, all while surrounded by jaw-dropping views. This day is the perfect blend of natural wonder and fearless fun.

Canyon Vistas & Desert Roads

Before we leave Moab behind, we’ll squeeze in one more dose of wonder with a sunrise visit to Canyonlands National Park. This lesser-known gem delivers sweeping views and a serene, expansive energy. From here, we’ll embark on a road trip through some of the most scenic landscapes in the Southwest. Picture winding roads, towering rock formations, and desert horizons that seem to stretch forever. By afternoon, we’ll arrive at the doorstep of Zion National Park—one of the most dramatic and awe-inspiring places in the world. As we settle into our new home base, the excitement builds for what lies ahead.

Day 4 - Zion NP

Angels Landing or the Narrows

Zion invites us to go deep—physically, mentally, and emotionally. Today, we will choose the adventure depending on the weather in the days leading up to the trip. For thrill-seekers, the hike to Angels Landing offers a heart-pounding ascent with chains, cliffs, and views that make you feel on top of the world. Prefer to keep your feet a bit wetter (and cooler)? The Narrows trail leads you into a narrow slot canyon where you’ll wade through a river between towering stone walls. Both options offer a deep connection to nature and a huge sense of accomplishment. No matter the path you take, today will leave you feeling powerful and alive.

Hoodoos & Stargazing

We travel to Bryce Canyon today, where the landscape transforms again into a maze of crimson spires and delicate hoodoos that look like something from another planet. Our mid-morning hike is called the Figure 8 Trail and takes us down into the canyon’s amphitheater for a unique perspective on these towering formations. As we climb back up, we’ll reflect on how small we are in comparison to the ancient earth—and how strong we are to explore it. In the evening, we’ll wrap ourselves in warm layers and gather beneath one of the darkest skies in the country. With no city lights in sight, you’ll witness stars like you’ve never seen them before.

Day 6- Capitol Reef

Day 6- Capitol Reef image

Solitude & Sisterhood

Today, we explore one of Utah’s most underrated gems: Capitol Reef National Park. This park offers a quieter, more intimate connection to the land, with fewer crowds and plenty of hidden treasures. We’ll hike to natural bridges, explore colorful canyons, and maybe even pick fruit from historic orchards, depending on the season. With dramatic cliffs, petroglyphs, and tranquil desert vibes, Capitol Reef is a perfect place to reflect, recharge, and reconnect. Tonight, we celebrate our journey and the bonds we’ve built as we share stories and laughter under the wide desert sky.

Sunrise & Soak

As our trip winds down, we’ll greet the final morning with one last sunrise—watching as the desert comes alive with light and color. It’s a quiet, grounding moment to reflect on how far we’ve come, both literally and figuratively. On our way back toward Salt Lake City, we’ll stop for a soak in natural hot springs—letting the warm waters ease tired muscles and seal in the serenity we’ve found together. This is more than a goodbye; it’s a celebration of your courage, your curiosity, and the beautiful connections formed through adventure.
