Pause and ask yourself:
Am I serving my highest calling?
Am I in touch with my intuition, owning my creative potential, and listening to my heart?
Am I honoring and holding sacred the valuable gifts inside myself?
If you are calling in a full-bodied YES to the above, consider joining us in Mexico this February...
At Heart Awakening Retreat, we will rise, as a circle of women, tap into elemental wisdom and reclaim our feminine power.
Present with the potent energies of Mazunte, Oaxaca’s pueblo mágico, and the Pacific Ocean, this is an invitation to connect with the earth, water and sky. Commune with cacao, rose, and blue lotus and experience meditative embodiment practices and sacred rituals to call in deep, heart-opening transformation.
Enjoy a two day digital detox during the middle of the retreat to embrace full presence with the inner and outer worlds and partake in a powerful New Moon temazcal ceremony in a traditional Mesoamerican sweat lodge. Among a host of offerings to recharge, build connection, activate intuition and nourish the heart and soul, there will be daily free time to relax, get a massage, swim in the natural pool, or go to the beach.
By taking this opportunity to step back from the mundane and dive into your unique essence, you will walk away feeling reborn with deepened self knowledge and heart-guided inspiration on your path.
You may come alone, but you will leave with an expanded circle of like-hearted women from around the world. Prepare for transformation, because when women come together with intention, true magic happens.
Discover Mazunte, Mexico—a coastal haven where mountains merge with azure waters & pristine sands. Located in Oaxaca, famous for its food & cultural diversity, Mazunte offers a tranquil respite from the hustle & bustle of everyday life. With its laid-back vibe, friendly community & breathtaking scenery, Mazunte evokes a sense of coming home.
In the pre-hispanic era the land served as a military outpost for the Aztecs & to this day remains home to Mixtec and Zapotec indigenous communities. This coastal region also hosts diverse species of wild animals including migratory birds, whales, dolphins, turtles & crocodiles.
Designated as a pueblo mágico (magic village), some believe Mazunte is an energy vortex. The powerful and healing energy of the land is palpable. Mazunte beckons with its irresistible allure, promising an unforgettable opportunity to rejuvenate the soul.
Perched near the peak of an ancient hillside, the retreat property is just 15 minutes to the beach by foot. It hosts six suites, a meditation platform, communal event space, dining hall, lounge areas & natural swimming pool - all with majestic ocean, village & mountain views. The layout weaves seamlessly into the landscape evoking a sense of immersion with the surrounding nature.
Permaculture principles guided the construction & design of the venue, which incorporates rain water collection, composting toilets & solar heated water. The building materials are primarily natural & locally sourced, including earthen bricks & tiles, bamboo, stone, & sustainably harvested wood & palm. These measures help protect the precious natural resources.
Every room has large sliding doors & windows, a terrace with a hammock, mosquito protection, a fan & ambient lighting. Single & shared accommodations are available based on your preference. Shared facilities include an open-air kitchenette with a fridge & ecologically conscious bathrooms with filtered water for tooth brushing & solar heated showers.
Enjoy traditional Mexican & global cuisine during mealtime at the retreat center. Breakfast, lunch & dinner are prepared fresh daily, with love, from local ingredients. The kitchen employs culinary best practices to ensure healthy & delicious vegan food catering to your specific dietary needs. Come delight your tastebuds in the flavors of Oaxaca and beyond.
Meet Lou, Sofia and Sophia, your co-facilitators...
Lou is a holistic women's massage therapist and sound therapy practitioner from France
She was introduced to Yoni Steam medicine and the Rebozo ritual by midwives in Mexico and trained by Ana Otero in womb healing and cleansing, as well as ancient womb rites. Lou works with the medicinal rose in each of these practices, a plant spirit with which she holds deep reverence and connection. With devotion and compassion, Lou creates sacred spaces for women to honor the wisdom of their bodies through womb awakening practices, offering a deeply nourishing and transformative journey. Her deepest intention is for each woman to discover the wonder, power, and sacred space of her womb.
Sofia, born in Portugal, raised a global citizen, is a steward of the Earth and Priestess of the water. Beyond her professional endeavors as an architect and bio-constructor, intertwining sustainability and permaculture into her work over the past 10+ years, Sofia delves into the realms of the occult and spirituality through traditional healing practices and alternative therapies. In 2018, she began training in traditional Mexican medicine, focusing on massage, nutrition and temazcal. This journey deepened her connection with natural building and healing practices. Transitioning to aquatic therapy in 2020, Sofia studied in Brazil and expanded her expertise in Mexico where she trained in Janzu and Hara techniques. After giving over 100 therapy sessions and participating in multiple retreats and trainings, she views water as a gateway to consciousness, integrating massage, music, and meditation into her practice. Additionally, Sofia initiated DJ training in 2021, merging electronic rhythms with medicinal music, facilitating transformative experiences through dance. Through ceremonial events like cocoa ceremonies and Curacau Dance, Sofia invites others to embrace self-realization and spiritual growth.
Sophia is a multidimensional space holder and international retreat organizer devoted to creating experiences that awaken balance, reverence for nature, and connection to spirit. Her spiritual journey began in 2013 while studying abroad in Copenhagen, where she first discovered yoga and meditation — a turning point that profoundly reshaped her worldview and life path. After earning a BA in Psychology from Vanderbilt University, Sophia completed a 200-hour Power Vinyasa teacher training in the U.S. and soon after moved to Thailand to teach yoga and English. There, she organized her first digital detox yoga retreats and dove into studies of Vipassana meditation and Thai massage.
Since then, Sophia has continued traveling the world, both teaching and studying a diverse range of modalities including Iyengar yoga, tantra, yoga nidra, reiki, sound healing, and ecstatic dance. In 2021, she completed a 300-hour multi-style YTTC in India and has since expanded her expertise through studies in integrative nutrition, yin yoga, and sound ceremony.
Now based between New York’s Hudson Valley and the Himalayan foothills of India, Sophia designs transformational retreats and immersive experiences that inspire presence, expand consciousness, and nurture harmony between body, mind, and spirit.
