Join us in Vava’u, Tonga for unforgettable, up-close encounters with humpback whales. No SCUBA or freediving certifications are required. We’ll be snorkeling, as we observe these incredible animals in their natural habitat.
Our small group size ensures you’ll enjoy plenty of time in the water and a variety of experiences — from watching mothers with their calves to witnessing juvenile whales, singers, and even males competing for mating rights. Every day brings a new adventure.
We will spend much of our time together – eating, swimming, staying in a large house, and going out on the boat for the day.

On your day of arrival we will pick you up at the airport and drive you to your accommodation
On your day of depature we will drive you from your accommodation to the airport

You have one rest day to explore the island of your own
Arrive in Vava’u, where transport will be waiting to pick you up from the airport. Once we arrive at the house, we’ll have a brief orientation to get you familiar with the space and go over what you’ll need to prepare for the upcoming days. After you’ve had time to settle in, we’ll gather for dinner together.
Breakfast will be served at the house each morning before we head out on the boat. Our days on the water are typically around seven hours long, with lunch provided on the boat. We are guided by an experienced Tongan captain and crew, who know the area well and will assist in finding the whales.
Most dinners are home-cooked and shared together at the house. On some occasions, we may also enjoy dining out as a group—these meals are included in the trip price.
The rest day will always fall on the Sunday of your trip.
This is a free day to enjoy at your own pace. You can explore the town, visit local sites, swim or snorkel at a nearby beach, or simply relax and recharge for the days ahead.
Please note: Extracurricular activities on this day are not included in the trip price.
