About your trip

Whisky & Afternoon Tea Private Tour

A day of castles, drams, scenery and a touch of luxury, with Neil as your guide.

If you’re looking for a day that blends Scotland’s history, landscapes, and a bit of indulgence, this tour is a cracker. I’ll collect you from your hotel, cruise ship, airport, wherever you’re starting, and we’ll head out in either my luxury Mercedes V‑Class or BMW 7 Series. Both are built for comfort, so you can settle in and enjoy the day while I take care of the driving.

This is a relaxed, story‑filled journey through some of Scotland’s most iconic sights, with whisky tastings and the option of a world‑class afternoon tea to top it all off.

Linlithgow Palace

We begin at Linlithgow Palace, the birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots. It’s a stunning ruin with a real sense of grandeur, surrounded by peaceful lochside scenery. You’ll have time to wander, explore, and soak up the history.

Stirling Castle

Next, we head to Stirling Castle, one of Scotland’s most important royal strongholds. From kings and queens to battles and sieges, this place has seen it all. The views from the ramparts are worth the visit alone.

The Kelpies

Then it’s off to The Kelpies, two enormous steel horse heads that are even more impressive up close. A brilliant photo stop and a great way to break up the journey.

Doune Castle

We continue to Doune Castle, a medieval fortress famous for its impressive architecture and its starring roles in Outlander, Monty Python, and Game of Thrones. It’s a favourite for film fans and history lovers alike.

Glenturret Distillery

We finish with a visit to Glenturret, one of Scotland’s oldest distilleries. Another tasting awaits, showcasing the craftsmanship and flavours that make this region’s whisky so special.

After a day of history, scenery, whisky, and a touch of luxury, we’ll head back to Edinburgh — relaxed, happy, and with a few new favourite drams.

Afternoon Tea at Gleneagles (Optional)

Instead of lunch, you can choose to indulge in a luxurious afternoon tea at Gleneagles, one of the world’s finest hotels. Think delicate sandwiches, pastries, scones, and a glass of champagne if you fancy it. It’s elegance with a Scottish twist, and a lovely treat in the middle of your day.

A wee note about flexibility

Nothing on this tour is set in stone. If you want to spend longer somewhere, skip a stop, add a detour, or grab a coffee with a view, just say. It’s your day, and I’m here to make it exactly what you want.
