A relaxed Highland day out with whisky, scenery, and a bit of indulgence, Saltire style.
If you fancy escaping the city for a day and seeing a bit of “the real Scotland”, this is the one. I’ll collect you from your hotel, cruise ship, airport, wherever you’re starting, and we’ll head north in either my top of the range Mercedes V Class or BMW 7 Series. Both are seriously comfortable, so you can settle in and enjoy the views while I do the driving. We’ll cross the Queensferry Crossing and roll into Perthshire, one of those places where the scenery does most of the work, and all you need to do is look out the window.
Aberfeldy Distillery — Home of Dewar’s
Our first stop is Aberfeldy. It’s a cracking distillery with proper heritage, and I’ll walk you through how whisky goes from “barley and hope” to the good stuff in your glass. If you’re new to whisky, don’t worry, I’ll keep you right. If you’re already a fan, you’ll be in your happy place.
Highland Chocolatier
Next, we swing by the world famous Highland Chocolatier. Try not to fall in love with everything on the shelves. Most people fail.
Lunch in Pitlochry
We’ll stop in Pitlochry for lunch — a lovely wee town with plenty of choice. You’ll have time to wander, stretch your legs, and maybe pick up something you absolutely don’t need but will buy anyway.
Queen’s View - A Proper “Wow” Moment
Then it’s off to Queen’s View, one of Scotland’s most iconic viewpoints. This is where I’ll pour you a wee dram of hand picked single malt, paired with award winning chocolate truffles. It’s a tough job, but someone has to guide you through it. While you’re enjoying the view (and the whisky), I’ll chat you through the art of single malt production, the fun bits, not the textbook stuff.
Blair Atholl Distillery
Our final stop is Blair Atholl Distillery for a tasting session in a historic setting. It’s atmospheric, it’s characterful, and the whisky’s not half bad either.
After that, we’ll head back to Edinburgh with full bellies, happy tastebuds, and a camera full of photos you’ll swear look like postcards.
A wee note about flexibility
Nothing on this tour is set in stone. If you want to tweak the plan, spend longer somewhere, skip something, or add a wee detour, just say. It’s your day, and I’m here to make it exactly what you want.
Meet Your Guide — Neil
I’ve been showing visitors around Scotland for years, and I still get a kick out of every tour. I’m a whisky fan, a storyteller, and a firm believer that a good laugh and a good view can fix most things.
My job is simple: make sure you have a brilliant day out, travel in comfort, and see Scotland the way locals love it, with no rush, no stress, and plenty of wee moments you’ll remember.
